Hi, I decided to make a small vegbox using cfl's for seedlings untill first 10 days. I never did anything indoor, this will be my first attempt.

Here's how I'm thinking about it, box approximately 50x50x50 :

My dilemma is, is there enough light for the seedlings to grow two or three sets of leaves on 10 days? What reflective material to use, is white paper good enough?

After that will be transplanted outside in soil(not pots).
Strains will be mostly autos and superautos + a round of photos.

Comment please:peace:

thats going to work nicely...imo..go for it are you starting them in dirt...i no you no that autos hate to be transplanted .....oh shit you said in 10 days......imo yes and i use black and white ploy to trap the light in :peace:

Yep, the light should all stay inside, will only leave some holes for ventilation(but no vents).

My concern is light intensity for seedlings, hope it's enough and not too much. Light schedule should be 18/6 or 17/7.

They will be planted in 2l pots and transplanted early after around 10 days, max two weeks so they don't get shocked in the roots.

i ran my lights at 20/4...the grow check out my pics in my album

Very nice plants you got mate:thumbs:

It's always an option to get them more lights, I want them to get as sturdy as possible during the indoor period, so they are stronger when put out.
Have also thought about 24/0 schedule, but then they will probably become afraid of the night:cool:

So what schedule is supposed to make them grow the most?

p.s. - I will also get DP's Think Different, but also the autoXtreme;) All out!

Ok, just gor my new lights, 6x 25W 6400K cfl's.

Tomorrow I will start building the box but don't know how to position the lamps, vertically or horizontally?
Also which reflective material to use? Been thinking about the "life saving foil" for mountaineering:)

Tested one bulb in the kitchen, damn, it was very much like daylight! Also many blue in the spectrum(checked with a diffraction grating on a CD). Cant wait for all 6 to shine!
