Hi, my name is StickMan
Hey Waira- I'm not sure if you remember me

Just kidding, it has been so long since I checked in. So High 5
First off, my sincere apologies for not getting back to you sooner (after I said I would) on the last long post you wrote me, and questions asked. I just looked at it and was from 6/19! Time is flying by here at Stick Farms, but still no excuse, it' called common courtesy on my part.
Anyway, a big congrats on the closing ceremonies of your first Auto grow:clap::clap::clap:
Sorry to hear about the stinking aphids on your Mi5
I know that you are very thorough in checking your girls over. So, it just goes to show just how easy these little nasties can avoid detection, and how quickly they can diminish or completely destroy ones hard work. I'm dealing with a low level of thrips yet again. I will be spraying again in the morning with spinosad. I believe the directions state that you can only apply it 5 or 6 times in a plants life. This will be round three. I guess I will have to invest in some AzaMax, unless you have any other suggestion.
It must be very rewarding in the partaking of your own herb. I can't wait, but it appears it will be approximately two weeks for my first set of Autos to start finishing out, and then the cure time. I will be harvesting all when either the trichs are amber, or all leaves yellow.
I will not post any close up pics of my first Autos, as they are just too embarrassing. I can understand why Muddy and MNS don't bother with them outdoors any more. The HR photo gear on the other hand appear to be doing splendid thus far, most are just shy of 4 feet. The 30 gallon pots certainly don't look so big any more. Next year I will just concentrate on photos, with a few Autos as side notes. I will be ordering some MOB and Fire x C99 as soon as the Dragon Freebies are back in stock. Hopefully they will be back in stock before RCMC summer sale ends.
Just read through the discussion again on pot size in the link you posted earlier in your thread. Good stuff in there. I obviously fall into the camp that bigger is better. I can also see the importance of the height of the pot. Like you, I purchased and am using smart pots right now. I will be stealing your method for attaching handles before I use them again. As you will see in the pic attached of my last batch of Autos that I'm waiting to show sex. I'm using the smallest AirPots made. They are approximately 23 ozs, I believe, and are called Propagators, for obvious reasons. I just removed 3 yesterday and transplanted into 5 gallon SmartPots. As you so aptly stated "no drama no trauma". Anyway, I will have to get a couple of probably 3 gallon AirPots for my indoor grow in the future.
I've been doing lots of research on breeding, and been spending a fair amount of time over at UDG. It has been interesting learning the origins of the breeding stock that the Outdoor Breeders at RCMC use. What I'm wanting to do (so far anyway) is get some Affy # 1 from SeedsMan (it's supposed to be from the original stock collected in Afghanistan in the early 70's, and then acclimatized for the west), and cross it with some GG3 ( Early Gold x (Afghan x Mighty Mite) F6) which cress uses to achieve some of his early finishes in many of his strains. This will just be a hobby project for me.
I'm attaching some pics here I took today. First two obviously outdoors. Second two indoors under T5HOs. I'm VERY happy with how the 2 Ghaze x C99 are doing thus far. Fem seeds sown directly into permanent pots appears to be the way to go, at least indoors. But, this is just one strain and I have nothing else to compare to.
No nute regiment or buffering ph in water, just good old TLO.
