Remember when I made the buckeye smash? I got to F3... Took an Afghan Kush photo mom and Auto Assassin dad... In all 3 generations of offspring only the MALES auto'd! All females popped pistils automatically but had to be flipped to flower... Lol explain that one! Ha!

Time for a new thread, with both outdoor and indoor action,.... My outdoor season was looking to be canceled, but another late opportunity opened up, so I have a spot to grow at a different friends place! Prior to this, I got my first legit tent in May, along with a new chance to run auto's after a long miserable no-grow break... ... The tent is actually outside, in a small courtyard under the eaves.... it's a Growneer 4 x 2, looks to be fairly good quality.... Lights are AutoCOB's and a DIY 2 COB unit a friend converted for me made from a dead eShine unit (Platinum knock-off)... AutoCOB's are 3500K and 4000K switched as needed, and the other is all 3500K....

... And a wee heater unit to keep things warmer at night/lights out, since it's in the 50's typically....View attachment 926491 ...nice unit, with the critical thermostat and low setting! It even moves back and forth if needed-

here's a gratuitous daylilly..... I got daylilly for days right now.

Yes I have a strain out for testing now called Magic Trick that is a 3 way auto cross and so far all have been photoperiod no sex until I flipped to 12/12. I have some mid way thru flower have not thought about putting back in 20/4 to see if that keep flowering I'll have to try that with the next batch I got germinating soon.

I got what I Thought was a photo revert....but way way up into the f's...maybe around f16-F20 I got it......never seen one until then.

It goes pre-pistilate then just veg's and veg's...assuming a photo revert I kept throwing it outdoors.

Then..one time I kept her under lights and low and behold after the long veg she went into bud under 24 hour light...

Grew around 4 ft...but went something like 135 days.
I didn't think the extra grow time warranted the extra yield...on my outdoor conditions...so I didn't chase it.

I Wonder if we have something New emerging.

Although I'm pretty sure a certain breeder had this one out as Super Autos....remember he advised people to drop the light pattern after they sexed..?

My ALF5 project started out 18/6, and I ended up dropping to 12/12 at 70 days. She was too tall, and it did flower after the shift. I went back to 18/6 (rolling the dice, as FD said) and she grew to well over a pound dry. The buds were not as tasty or strong as her smaller regular scheduled sister. So I would tend to agree, it is not worth chasing massive yields. Like with fruits or cucumbers, smaller is often better.
