Poison Ivy sucks....

I knew an old timer who swore by eating the young leaves to build up an immunity. I've never had the balls to try it myself.

Yeah, it wasnt fun at all. Im thinking about collecting some leaves to try to make an extract....

There is no immunity..And people who don't seem to get a rash from it? Will, if exposed a few times, eventually get it as bad as anyone else.

I've never researched it but since I got it real bad about 40 years ago, eyes to knees, I've never gotten more than a blister or two since.

The way the poison from the Toxicodendron genus affects the victim is to get worse over time. Ingesting poison ivy or poison oak can kill you, as can smoking it. DO NOT EVER plant in or around poison ivy, if you do just cut your loss and let it go.

I have never reacted to poison oak, but that doesn't mean I'm immune. Enough exposure and I'll look just like the top pic.

We'll send Gary around for a visit. Goats will eat it up and it doesn't bother them a bit!:Gary:

Well those are just a couple test plants, photos that will NEVER finish in time, Malwai Gold freebies I think. I just wanted to try drilling holes using my auger and planting direct from seed, to see how far they get before frost. Also using clear cups with top cut out as a mini greenhouse and to protect seedlings, well see how that turns out. I was litterally kneeling in that stuff, mixing soil and planting for a good 10 minutes, in shorts even.... DUH, hopefully the scars go away eventually....
