Hi all im left scratching my head today because im out of rainwater and the weatherman aint bein kind to me. Ph of rainwater where I am is 7 and the ec is 0.01. I can use my tap water which is also 7 or maybe slightly higher and the ec is 0.50
Or I could use bottled water ive found and used in the past in hydro its ph is 6.2 and the ec is only 0.04.which do you think is better for my girls the tap or bottled.i intend to go back to rainwater once im stocked up again.i never adjust ph I normally give straight rainwater. Girls need a good wettin today.cheers guys

Hi Auto

The tap water "should" be fine- if you leave it to dechlorinate (if you have chlorine in the water) for 24 hours.

My water has a BGEC of 0.5 too and PH of over 7 before final adjustments :)

Need a good wetting today? Personally i'd buy a bottled water, our tescos own brand one is pretty decent.

Edit: Double check that 6.2 in the bottle - I've had them at a higher ph that what they are stated, :)

Hey autodub :)

If it's hydro, you MUST make sure your water company doesn't treat your water with chloramine (chlorine and ammonia) as even the water companies advise people not to do hydro with chloraminated water.

Chloramination of water is more and more widespread and not many hydro people know of the danger.

All the best,

steely
