Grow Mediums Water quality issues, with well water?

Have had a water problem/nightmare for some time now. Have well water. Can not use expensive fertilizer, since I need to change water every couple of days. Plan on getting a UV water treatment device, and using RO water.

Would boiling the water kill off bacteria, mold, and algae, till I get the UV water filter.

Plan on rinsing the roots again. Can they be put in straight H2O2, and if so, for how long?

Hi Alex ... Can you use tap water until your RO is set up?.instead of well water . i think its treated to kill of a lot of nastys ! .

Not sure about boiling .maybe a hydro mod can help you mate ?

wait a minute do you have any water testing equipment
if you have slime mold algea it is usually due to low oxygen in res and too high if res temps
lets start there and then go to your water

as far as the h2o2 goes i would only run it at about 1% overall solution to see tollerances and changes needed

Our tap water is well water. Not a hole in the ground with a bucket, but pump going down 120 feet, and supplying house. Water is very hard, about 265 ppm.
Have RO water to drink, but only outputs about 2 gallons a day. Might buy second unit, and UV treatment, in case of bacteria or algae in source water.

What is the PH? If you get a water filter that is 5mic charcoal your #s will be much better... I have one for the whole house and one for the Grow room... the GR then is double filtered...
