Day 22
the waterfarms are taking off now the roots have reached well into the bubbling reservoirs and the plants are growing quickly!
[HASHTAG]#soilsisters[/HASHTAG] return to the photo shoot haha I suppose they are going to be OK -- fun learning experiment for me!

These are looking great man, really liking the serrations on the SN leaves...very fast movers this lot,
Just out of interest, what made you go with soil for the soil sisters? Have you ever used coco, surely that would have been a better medium for them?

coco eh? I dunno you tell me haha... maybe they would have transplanted better from the rockwool into coco? or what ways would coco have been better? I will say the transplanting was a shock... but I also mucked it up and overwatered the crap out of them...
If I was to grow in soil again I would probably just plant right into the soil...
the soil sisters project was mainly driven by the desire to keep them alive after changing my initial plan of culling them after the selection was made
I have only used waterfarms so I don't really know anything else and I couldn't just get more waterfarms because they grow monsters and I don't have the space. Even as it is I doubt I have the space but it will be a fun experiment lol
I guess being a meph head I had interest in the "mephisto way" i.e. roots organic + GBD super soil and knew that I could get the stuff quickly and wanted a very simply water-only solution so there you go...
I may dabble with coco in the future who knows?! I don't see myself giving up waterfarms though unless these organic soil buds really do come out as amazing as organic soil farmers say they do... i.e. better than my waterfarm buds heh :greenthumb:

It’s just my preferred medium really man,but I can now understand why if you wanted to go down the organic route.
But coco is such an easy medium to work with, and you can get organic regime for coco too,not sure if it’s as good as organic soil?
Coco is pretty much like hydro really, being inert,it’s pretty near impossible to over water in coco,it only holds a certain amount of water, however much water you put through it.very forgiving too,if you spot something going wrong with your plants,a simple flush through with ph’ed water normally sorts it out...yield from coco is pretty bloody good too,if you’ve got the right sort of tap water, ive seen people pulling double figure yields off single plants,it won’t match your water farms, but will come pretty close though.

cool man sounds like coco makes another great tool in the stable as they say certainly worth checking out sometime
Actually if the transplanting from rockwool to coco works well / better than soil then I might give it a go when I mess around with these regular seeds (well the better than pie and pecan sandies are feminized)
