Hi guys, first grow.. 2 sweet seeds sweet skunk and 2 DP think diff.. some temp problems iv get help with on another thread.. confused about watering.. 2 in 18L fabric root pruning pots and 2 in ordinary 11L pots.. under a 400hps for 7 days now and around 5/6 sets of leaves each.. I want to water to run off and leave but not sure if it's too early.. anyone help?? Worried about overwatering if I go to run off now.. surely run off in those 18L pots is a lot of water for a plant that's only been under lights for a week?? Btw if there's a thread on this someone please point me at it..

Morning, Hope!
The idea is to train the roots to go down (strong roots = strong gals), and to leach salts from the soil once you start to feed.
Once I see that second set of leaves, I start slowly adding water, from the outside of the pot working in, until I get run off. That way you aren't washing all the soil away from your gal.
Especially with larger pots, this can take some time (and quite a bit of pH'ed water.) Once all your soil is hydrated, it's a much less time consuming process.
Others may do it different, but this method works for me.
Be sure to let them dry out enough between waterings! :peace:

Many thanks Ren, I want to get started watering to run off to save time on watering every day but will be keeping a close eye on them once done til run off.. but didnt want to drown them.. the heat issues in my tent seem to be giving them quite a thirst for young ones :) your help is much appreciated.. brilliant site.. I've posted on these boards just twice and got almost immediate and very informative replies.. seems already to be one of the more friendly/genuine forums!! Cheers man..

Just be aware that your humidity will most likely increase with the added moisture.
You may want to weigh or at least pick up your pots before and after watering to get an idea of when to water next.
Yep, AFN is the spot, Friend. I knew almost less than Jack my first grow! Keep asking questions and reading!:peace:
