on December 21. a once in many lifetimes event. last time was in 1226. but i may miss it. because at dusk it will be very low in the western sky. Damn!!! if it is clear? i will setup the scope anyway, in the chance i may get a glimpse.

Good news. went out last night with binoculars located Jupiter and Saturn. high enough in the sky to see with telescope.
they are Close enough NOW to see both in a high power eyepiece. along with all the visible moons.
OH great Ganja god. give me clear sky's. i have three chances, over the next three nights.

Jupiter and Saturn have been gradually getting closer to one another since the start of summer. And, on December 21, the planets will appear to virtually overlap in the sky over Britain.
