Hey folks. Could use a little advice here if you're able.

What we have here is a week old Auto Pounder. In peat/perlite mix over Kindsoil. It's had a humidity dome overtop so far, but took it off about 4 hours before this pic was taken. Lights are 2x300w Marshydros (one directly over this plant) at 30" above the plant. Tent humidity has been 50-60% and temps have been 77-86F.

Has been receiving mistings 2x day, up until today when it got a total of three. Any advice? AutoPounder1215.jpg

How often have you been watering? Kind of looks like overwatering to me.

Twice a day - lights are off from 10am-4pm, so I've been misting w/about 100 sprays (sometimes only 50 or 75) twice a day at 4:15 and quarter after midnight. So a total of 200 sprays or less per day w/clear plastic cup overtop afterwards.

Let the soil dry out a lil. With a plant that size in a pot that big you'll probably only have to water once a week, maybe even less until she has established roots. A good trick is stick your finger about 3 inches into the soil and if it's moist don't water. Good luck!

I'm not sure a seedling so young could exhibit signs of overwatering.

Waira and @namvet 25, are the Dr.'s on call. One of them will have you sorted out.

@Yeatster - I tend to agree, even though this is obviously all pretty new to me. The soil is definitely drying between waterings, or at least it appears to be to my observations. If I stick my finger inch-deep into the soil a few inches from the plant it's never felt *wet*, you know?

Thanks for calling in the on-call team. I appreciate it.

It's not really possible to let it dry out any more, I'm afraid. Maybe I'm just terrible at judging moisture content of soil, but it's pretty much felt what I'd call "reasonably moist" to dry so far. I can't imagine if I only watered it once a week.

I have some 3 week old plants in 1 gallon fabric pots and I only water them every 4 or 5 days. Trust me...mj doesn't like wet feet. Did you completely saturate the soil after you planted your seed or did you spray the top of the soil like you've been doing?

Started with dry soil, and have only been spraying up until tonight.

Next time completely saturate the soil after planting. Spraying the soil is only going to get the top layer of media wet. You want moisture deep in the pot so your tap root can grow to it.
