Did you happen to have little bugs flying around? That's the other thing. I think they are nats. And my germination rate has dropped. They are concentrated around the tap roots.

I did however at the same time my wife had on old bag of potatoes back in the cupboard that got forgot about that was infested. Once that was thrown out they were gone but the soil worms remained.
the worms look a little big to be gnat larva either way this is how i treat my gnat problems.
I solve to problem in many different ways first it to simply let the soil dry out. You may not be able to do this with seedlings but if u have a container that u store yor soil in i would either leave it open or place it outside where it is cold( freeze the bugs).
As for the pots with the plants in them you could cover the soil with coco or cotton all the way to the bottom leaves. Gnat larvae live on the upper 2-3 inches of soil ant eat the organic material in that area. If u can keep t dry thwn thw gnats will die. Or if u add sone inorganic material like the cotton or coco at create like a layer whetr the larvae will be able to live in but not eat then they will die off within a week.
Also strips of fly tape type stuff placed in the soil helps.

Benine or pathological they can be killed without nailing the microbial flora. Use any soil insecticide for gnat larvae organic or inorganic your plants are so young a hit of even nasty stuff will be gone by harvest. Pyrethrin is expensive but works and is organic. Permethrin is what I use if early--late I'd not use that one.
i just had problems with happy frog as well. just call it a day and find something else to grow in. soil less will prevent most of these pests. check out coco coir. here is an excellent guide on the subject.

You might also want to try mosquito dunks...watered in, and next round you can even crumble them and mix them into the soil...
For my .02, I'd just start over with a new medium. Not trying to talk shit, but I've had gnats from Fox Farm soil too...shit happens. Never seen those worms though, that SUCKS.

Get some neem oil or sm90 and add to your water,then flush your plants with this mix and it should do the trick.:smokebuds:
some one got to it before me but bro i wouldnt nuke the soil if i were you because that shit will get contaminated by all sorts of other rapid growing bacteria possibly even mold if it has the right humidity and spores hop on it (which are electrostatically charged and stick to everything). id send an email to the soil producers, they might be there for a reason or its a bad batch and theyve made you an unhappy frog lol but that really blows, you might be able to kill them with hydrogen peroxide, which shouldnt affect all the bacteria, and after a few days the H2O2 will have decomposed and evaporated away (obviously test it out on a handful of soil before you pour a liter into your pot to make sure what ever it is they are dies). good hiroshima on the nematode vibes your way!!!
Fungus gnats die and cannot hatch above 50 degree C. the eggs harden and thicken at this temperature and they simply cannot escape. Instead of baking or microwaving the soil, put a layer of cinnamon about an inch or two before the top soil and then soak wit HOT water. I boiled a kettles worth and dumped it in per 4.4G container and have not seen any since. This works with spring tails or fungus gnat larvae, hydrogen peroxide works if you are concerned with heat not as well though... I used the boiling water on my Auto Afghan Mass two weeks before harvesting and she took it like a champ. From now on before I put my precious seed in my container, rinse with BOILING water and use a cinnamon layer near the top soil. Cinnamon is a natural fungicide and will slow down any mold that the gnat larvae eat.

Do not use boiling water with small plants, and apply cinnamon after the soil rinse. The boiling water killed my tap root on my 2 week old malana bomb, got rid of the larvae no problem but should have ran cold water thru it right after. When you mix cinnamon and hot water it creates slime! Looking back I should have uprooted the poor girl first and now I have to nurse her roots back to health. I must repeat that the boiling water does work flawlessly and have read reporta of certain plants taking 15 mins of hhigh heat becore any damage. However if ur plant is already well established run cold water thru immediaty after.
