No need to trust me, but most of my adult life was involved in the "spiritual".
It implies something beyond the natural world/universe that is somehow elevated or better.
It is often mysterious, and is so because the things usually ascribed to it are either very general and easily interpreted many ways or very specific because the thing ascribed is so out of the ordinarily understood paradigms.
There is much we do not understand about nature.
Perhaps JM does communicate with plants and they with him. I don't know. But I do think that if he does, there is a natural phenomena occurring and that sooner or later we will understand the mechanisms behind such interaction. Maybe at that time everyone will have that ability or may be it will be specialized.
But, I am wary of "special status" attitudes adopted by many practitioners of all things spiritual in nature and have rarely seen any group of people that share common "spiritual values" that it doesn't creep into in some manner.
I have raised 7 children to adulthood and listen to lots of stories, rendered judgement in many a dispute, etc..
Things that are true can be understood when we have all the information necessary to understand it, otherwise something is amiss.
Either we need more information or something has been miscommunicated, whether by design or not.
