Morning green friends from all over the world. I thought i use the community brainpower and ask some pointers if you don`t mind :)

I am looking for drip irrigation systems to try out. I have been watering by hand and it`s gotten overwhelming, so i decided to upgrade my system.

Any tips or ideas i should consider or maybe a manufacturer who is canna oriented? Any help and ideas would be very appreciated.

Hey @forestly I'm in the same boat as you. Hand watering is getting in the way of a lot of things lol. I'm going coco with a drip irrigation system. I found this video on YouTube of a guy that designed his own system and it looks awesome. I'm going to be doing the same as hin. Here it is

The two most commonly used that I've seen around the forums are Autopots and Blumat's. The Autopot's seem to be a little more popular, while I personally like the Blumat's.

Autopot's use a specially designed valve to flood the bottom of a planter tray and then wait until it is almost dry before refilling. Provides a water from the bottom system that manages to provide a nice dry cycle between fillings of the tray. This also means that it will respond to the plants uptake as it will refill as often and as quickly as the plant(s) need when they get to really slurping the moisture.

Blumat's are a water from the top dripper that uses a porous, clay cone as a moisture sensor. A small reservoir of water inside the cone puts pressure on a valve at the top. As the moisture in the soil dries out, moisture is drawn out of the cone and the pressure inside drops. Water flow is increased. As the soil gets moist, pressure goes back up in the cone and the water flow slows. End result is that it will maintain a kind of constant moist core of soil between the drip spot and the cone sensor. The system will also respond to more or less moisture draw from the plant.

Probably a ton of DIY and timer run systems around as well depending on what it is your looking for. Good luck with the hunt and finding one that works for you! :smoking:
