New Grower Whats good my gang help man out :d

too funny I though "those car window sun blockers" was the pull down sun visor, not those stupid things to block the sun from coming in the window while the car is parked....

I was thinking what an idiot would use a car sun visor for reflection... thats why I asked if it was a joke...lol

Guess I'm really stoned.

Lol its ok cres we have all been there

As Larry the cable guy would say..."I don't care who you are. That's funny right there."

Cal mag is also very helpful

They have instructions on the bottle and a schedule for photos. for autos you simply use 1/4 strength nutrients.. Another AFN member has a great schedule to use with autos. I'll try to find it or maybe someone else will post a link..

I am not an expert but I have used the car reflectors for years. They are very good, easy to handle, inexpensive, don't wash out and the crinkles actually prevent hot spots by dispersing the reflected light more evenly than a mirror. I have previously used foil , mylar space blanket, aluminum and stanless steel sheet metal and flat white paint. I like the auto reflectors best.lol

@ cres lmao at first i thought the same, then i remembered my wife had a mylar covered one.
I thought he might be growing in an igloo and needed to keep the heat in the grow ;)
My mylar has hand prints and spray splatter all over it and it looks like hell and dont think it's reflecting as it did clean.
my shower stall is an off white fiberglass kinda thing and i didnt want to paint it, so i went with mylar. i wanted the crinkled mylar because it breaks up the light to reduce hot spots.
Fox farms was on my list of nutes to buy and so was General Hydro, so when i got to the store they had GH on sale and they threw in Advanced Sensi PH perfect A & B as a bonus.. nice guy he was :) he's always giving me a deal on stuff, and handing me samples.
So anyway, go with the white, and do yourself a favor and spend a couple extra on the stuff for bathrooms or kids rooms,, it will take a better scrubbing than ordinary paint. i'm looking into this new platinum white they say is about 95% reflective.
So i can offer this advise, take time and think about: Water,Food,Light,Heat,Moisture, ventilation. and ask questions, the only stupid questions are the ones we don't ask.
Happy growing

I have never tried them personally. But I do know that it is advised against using wrinkled mylar unless it was designed for a grow room.that's why you find many posts asking how to hang it without creasing/wrinkling. Some people do but its normally emergency blankets and they have good airflow that slightly moves it so the hotspots are not constantly on one area. With the car widow blockers being thicker this wouldn't happen. I'm glad it has worked well for you though...
If you use led or cfl it won't be as much of a problem as using hps/mh.

yeah i dont think wrinkled mylar would ever be a good idea while using a mh, the heat/light builds up in the wrinkles and isn't reflected properly thats why it creates a hot spot, i would also consider getting a carbon filter and extraction fan :peace:

Yes I have been using cfl, led and tube florescent bulbs I can see how a crease or a large wrinkle might produce a hot spot by concentrating the light on an area but with the millions of crinkles there is little chance of this. My other criteria are low cost, small area and super stealth (buds in a cardboard box, buds in a barrel, buds in a pantry etc) , so I like the ease of handling and ease of moving from place to place. Strangely the mylar blanket was my least favorite and may be the same material. It eventually wore out(went clear) and was hard to handle.
