hey dude welcome to the forums :)
i dont have the experience but i have a decent amount of knowledge from reading and doing my research , from what i know northern lights is a pretty easy going auto strain beginner friendly can take a little more stress but not much, also low smelling strain and it yields really nicely, im currently on my first grow and ive picked a white widow and pineapple express, they've been pretty good thus far.
im sure someone with some acutal grow experience with a beginner friendly strain will pop in soon :Sharing One:

Hello haha, welcome to the forum. I am still new to autos myself. I had luck with a few Bio Deisel Mass autos grown indorrs and have killed several others ( nutes too soon will fry the little things ). I will try an out door grow this season with MI5. That is the one that caught my eye. You cant go wrong with the Northern Lights like budson said and I am sure there will be more suggestions.Good luck

Hi jeff, i'm on my eight grow, though i've never grown outside.

Afghan Kush Ryder is a very hardy plant, she can cope with cold, heat, undernute, overnute, underwater, overwater - in other words she's very forgiving.

Most autos are fairly resilient though due to the Ruderalis genes.

Read this thread it's very helpful :

I gave auto ak from Grass o matic an absolute beatdown as my first grow ever, underpotted, no nutes, terrible conditions, constant rookie mistakes, and it stll was pretty resilient. smoke was amazing. Smell was even better, almost intoxicating. Just my personal experience though , there are many many strains that can take some abuse
