If you spend a lot of money on a nutrient and then decide you no longer want to use it, don't dump it in the trash, dump it on your plants until it is all gone.

You'll find different reasoning for it. But my personal reason is because I strictly run autos. Which means about a whopping 2 weeks of veg time. Lol. Most autos show sex/preflower from day 17-21. From there, they are in preflower/flower mode for the rest of their pre programmed life. Photos.. Well, you veg them as long as you want to, so the grow nutes may come in handy there.. For autos its basically either 4-2-6 NPK (grow a/b) or 5-4-8 NPK (bloom a/b). They both have the same core indredients and if you only use one you can always add a simple booster for the part you didnt buy. I like the blooms ratio better and my soil will always start with enough nutrients to get the plant through its first 14-21 days of "growth". So "grow" nutes seem kinda pointless to me with autos. And yes, they also make the products just to sell to unknowing people like myself. For instance, bud candy the same thing as carboload. Same. Thing. But they will still sell you both. I fell for it and bought both. Lol. But I think the grow/bloom difference comes into play more so when photos are involved.

I got ya makes a lot of sense. I bought both as well lol. Didn't know they were the same thing. I am an auto guy to but got some freebies 6 regular BOG blue cindy. I will try them some day once I get some skills haha.

What I meant was, don't make a trash can out of your pot. More plants have been harmed by puritan gardeners who waste not. I had great success in the past with photos just adding some tomato tone to the soil and then in full bloom adding a little Jacks Blossom Booster, but when I switched to autos even the small amount of urea in the Jacks would make them start growing again. So I started looking for an 0-10-10 and that's how I found the simple individual N P K packets. Now I just make my own based on the individual plants needs.
Autos are still growing like a photo in veg when they begin to flower. Most of the info and products out there are based on photo growing habits. Nutrients can get expensive and all you are paying for is mostly water (and some of that cost is just shipping.) Like the prophet said, most autos will grow like a champ in just ordinary good soil for the first weeks and need no supplement. It also gets expensive if you go whole hog religious organic because I ended up searching the world over trying to make my soil like it was before man ever polluted the earth.
If you ever have some free time watch one of the Harley Smith youtube videos on plant nutrition. Sure, he's advertising his products, but knowing what the different nutrients we add are doing and needed for makes the whole nutrient thing more understandable.
The waste comes in when we ask somebody to mix up a bottle of something for us without really even knowing what's in it. I find on the internet, most people swear by the product they just spent a lot of money on and they are very loyal to that product until it is finally used up and then they buy the next new thing. When I make my own it is very easy to be more opened minded when I learn new things because I can change anything next feeding.

True dat! Good info, I just meant I will use it in some way on some grow. Got 2 more grows in a row after this one so get used in due time. Don't waste anything in life well as best I can. This is why I come here great knowledge from great people. Thanks man.

i feed mine grow threw the stretch,they like there nitrogen at that point,then i half dose flower nutes after 2wks,wk later i blast full mix i use
