Hi i'm a total noob to indoor growing and would like some advice please.
I have my seeds and grow space that's all good it's which lights to choose.
I'm wanting to go with T5's but there are just so many out there.
I'm growing 2 plants at a time so would like to know what size (length) and wattage I would need
I understand about HO and not normal tubes but that's about it
I'm sure this question has been asked many times before so you will have to forgive me being a noob
Pete
Also looking at various electrical wholesalers in my area they all supply tubes and fittings seperately and it works out cheaper than buying a specifically made grow light

i don't want to use them that's how a friend of mine got busted they tracked his credit card through his ****** and got the address from the bank
That's how it rolls in the uk cash only if you don't want to get caught

So after reading alot of posts on here am I correct in thinking that I need about 6500-7000K for growing no matter what the wattage.
I saw on here in the diy section someone put 6 25w cfls in a reflector together is that a viable option as thet would make it so much easier for me

I got my dad a blackstar 240? on ebay. He just got his med mj card 'n ok to grow... Hes recovering wonderfully on it!! There is a huge mm community out there all fiending to grow what THEY like, not the druglords minions... Auto hybrids fill that gap. The first el cheapo led panels were from china and lasted a couple weeks of use. Seedlings... Wish got him t5 or cfls but really good results on flowering. I was also thinking 'covert' as the led is pretty stealthy, other than purplish

H Peteey.I have 6500 K t5 bulbs for veg and I put 4 x 40 watt cfl 2700 K for flowering.... I find the light output better and it's totally DIY to rig up yourself. it may not be as much crop as the mh and has but for us newbies as myself it works well enough.

There are lots of ways to rig CFL's and they do run cool. I'd like to try a t5, but have plenty of toys for right now.

what I did to rig my CFL's was buy a cheap vanity fixture from home depot. This fixture has 4 sockets. I then use "Y" splitters to get it up to 8 x 26w bulbs, but this is probably overkill for 2 plants. 6 seems fine for veg. I attached the light fixture to a piece of wood that I had drilled a 2 inch hole in to pull the wires through. Then just wire it up to a grounded chord. I made a reflector from regular vent pipe and painted it white. Attach some hooks to the board and buy some chain and you are ready to roll. I'll be happy to send pics if you p.m. me. Here is the fixture.. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-...ath-Bar-HB2051-35/202022451?N=5yc1vZc7pjZ12ky

You can also just use a power strip and some y adapters plugged into a socket with a plug end. http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/productImages/300/f8/f8589964-3992-4094-ac4b-e4b5fd16fd17_300.jpg

What I like about cfl's is the flexibility. You can mix and match color spectrum, wattages and arrange them in lots of ways..

Sun Systems also makes a very affordable 150w 18,000 lumen hps with a built in ballast and reflector. This thing is plug and play. If I had to do it all over again I would not have spent so much time designing a cfl fixture and just bought the HPS. The cost ended up being about the same. You can veg 2 plants with this no problem.. I think this will provide superior buds over cfl. Add a few cfl's if you want more light or different spectrum. http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/89...BaseShopping&gclid=CNHr242ixr0CFeJF7AodGFMA3g
