Harvest & Curing Which Trichomes are you watching?

I have struggled with this sometimes on certain strains. I'll grab my USB scope and find that the bud is mainly cloudy, and even has some trichomes that look somewhat clear. Then my scope picks up a sugar leaf, and I notice that there are 20-30% amber trichs on it.....
I have to say, I never go with what I'm seeing on the sugar leafs, but does anyone disagree?
Some strains have a real wide spread of what stage the trichomes are at.

Me too. Calyxes are what I look at.
