stan posted an announcement with the US store opening time on the MephHeads subreddit -- they are going to try opening weekly starting Feb 22 (Monday), opening at 10 am Mountain Time (9 am Pacific / 11 am Central / 12 pm Eastern), the time may change later. "The store will remain open until we receive one weeks worth of orders. We will close the store after we hit our order limit. This allows us to process orders in a timely manner, and prepare the Mephisto store for next weeks opening."
@stan_mephisto forgive me if I missed it in this thread, but I would love to know what exact Strains will be on sale on the US site Monday?
Be willing to bet they just self the plants with STS or CS just like everyone else does. Just plain easiest way to get the seeds to the banks.
No, they don't self, and they don't use STS or CS. They use gibberelin (GA3), so the seeds are organically produced, and they're pollinating other plants of the same line with the reversed plant, and possibly also outcrossing to make other experimental crosses like Illuminautos or freebies.
I don't work for Mephisto, but it's more likely that they have regular auto seeds reserved from the F(n-1) generation as breeding stock, so when they need to produce more feminized seeds of F4 Forum Stomper, F6 Walter White, etc., they grow a population of the F3 or F5 (respectively), pick one or more to reverse, pick other candidates as pollen recipients, and then pollinate those with the reversed pollen. They may also pollinate candidates selected with pollen from selected males in the breeding population and advance the seeds for breeding stock to F4 and F6.

regulation helps the big companies as much as they like to complain. Prices the little guy out.
Hopefully companies like Meph have good BUSINESS attorneys and advisors not just ones that help you get out of jail.Securing a position as a boutique, high quality breeder, into this new age will require all sorts of magic tricks I’m sure.
I suspect it will be much like craft coffee is now. Starbucks and a few big boys dominate but high end boutique stores exist. You'll never convince people who like generic mainstream stuff that there is a better option, if even only slightly more expensive.
I've often wondered weed industry would mimic the tobacco industry if legalization comes through. The people that smoke cigs never grow tobacco, rarely only in old movies have I seen someone roll up loose tobacco. I already see people getting use to buying prerolled joints (something I tell myself I'd never do) so getting a pack 5 or maybe even 10 joints may not be far off.
For me I think growing will still happen been doing it so long. And I only smoke my own stuff. They spray tobacco with all kinds of shit and piss. I expect the same for their herb. But average joe will go for it.
Back on mephisto drop. How long you expect the store to last open tomorrow. I wager 1/4 white crack 29 mins lol. I'm going after bear ass monkey, so stay out my way less you catch an elbow.
