Mephisto Genetics Why is it so hard to get Mephisto seeds?

Ah man, well, we all make mistakes and it's easy to get heated online. Sometimes we don't come off how we intend. If we were all sitting around having some beers I bet the conversation would have been:

Guy1: I have an idea to sort seeds by people who need them!

Guy2: Thats a stupid fuckin' idea! I do what I want how I when I want!

Guy1: No, dude, you're bein fuckin stupid!

Guy2: Looks hard.

Guy1: Looks back.

Both: Laugh. Yeah. "clink"

fin.

Well, I'm a terrible playwright but I hope y'all get the drift of it.

Mamet has nothing on you, old boy.

If 'fairness' and ease of access (not having to be online at a specific time and then hope to get some seeds), maybe there should be a lottery? Maybe Mephisto sends Emails with 1-time usable codes/passwords (so no sharing) to those who enter their Email addresses in a form for that sale. The first X number selected will then be the only ones allowed to 'enter' the store on the sale day. With each sale having its own lottery, this would randomize access, make it 'fairer' and also easier, including less site crashing from overloads.

I've found it pretty easy to get from mephisto both times I've tried. I do think they should figure out some sort of algorithm on their website to weed out people who buy seeds when they don't need them(frequent buyers of multiple strains).
too many people seem like they are just collectors and love showing what they got off on reddit or other places, like they are playing cards or something.

Turned the whole seed buying thing into a little kids game
Obviously not much into stopping people from buying what they want. But I think you have a great point. There are times where seed "collections " look like a playground pokemon tournament. Like the show your seed collection threads. I'm guilty myself. I can only grow 2 plants at a time, but my seed collection is pretty vast and no reason to add more. But still I chase more seed I really can't even grow. I often compare it to a chick and her shoe collection.

This is guy 1 from the play idea DCLXV1 had :crying:

I am probably guilty of this. I don't exactly have a collect them all mentality, but I defiantly try to get every strain from every reputable breeder that appeals to me. I've got a 4x2 and probably have a 15 year supply of seeds :o but that doesn't stop me from wanting to snag anything new I don't have that sounds good. I don't buy more than one pack of something and I don't buy to resell or trade, so I feel my purchase is just as justified as anyone else's. I think the US store does a good job by limiting packs per strain to prevent people from buying for resale. You are lucky to check out once non the less try to abuse the system with a second checkout under another name.
