Wienerwoods
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Hello! I'm Wienerwoods - a fairly acquainted member. Some of you may have seen me around here last year.
After six months of absence I'm announcing my return here for a few reasons other than just to say hi. In part, I wanted this to be the introduction I realized I never made for some reason. But mostly it's because I have made some very exciting plans for expanding the projects I've had going previously. I hope this small update will also attract new people to check out my stuff.
I've mainly been cultivating three things: weed, psilocybin mushrooms and salvia divinorum. Salvia probably won't see much change tbh but in addition to my lovely DIY growing cabinet I'm going to purchase a moderately sized tent.

During the last three months I've been letting a friend use the cab, teaching him the basics of growing weed. He did fantastic. I upgraded the cab from two 2.5 liter pots to a single 5.5 liter square pot which also liberates some vertical space.
30 grams of prime bud (cola and branch tops) as well as approximately 20-30 grams of popcorn bud mixed with some sugar leaf ensued. A good bit of the 'trim' was smoked and vaped while waiting for the actual bud to dry and the rest was made into butter. 24 deliciously dank M&M cookies' worth of butter.

It was an eye-opening grow for me, too! I finally found out what's truly been wrong with all of my plants so far. There's something in the water and pH isn't the only thing messed up by that. I told my friend to only use deionized water to water and feed the plant and it stayed super healthy all the way until the end. A very compact reverse osmosis system is now up there on my list of things to buy.
The thing is, I made that thing when I was 18 and it has served me well for close to two years now. But now I feel like I might be outgrowing it. I was thinking 36"x36"x72" would be sufficient for four plants under a 240W LED panel, but I haven't ordered anything yet. The plan is to still keep the cab around. It'll be perfect for cuttings and whatnot.
I'll be sharing my progress once I actually start working on the tent.
On to other stuff.
The photo is from last year. My first venture into the world of mushroom cultivation was a great success and I'm now going to transition to using more advanced methods. Namely oats as a spawn and horse manure as substrate. I'm probably going to make another batch of the good old PF tek cakes so I'll have something going on meanwhile. But first things first; I'll have to make new spore syringes and liquid culture from a new print I've already acquired. Future updates can be found in the Farmacy section.
Salvia Divinorum is another deeply fascinating plant, and its cultivation is still largely uncharted territory. Many times I've been surprised by both its fragility and resilience. Since I found out that they mix Roundup in our drinking water, my sallies have also been way happier.
Here's the current situation:
The plant on the left was watered with tap water for a long time. I've salvaged all the leaves and I'm waiting on the last cutting/s to grow big enough so I can scrap the rest. If you look at the other two it's evident how much better off they are with purified water. The one in the middle is only a fraction of the age of that tapped out stick. Soon it's gonna throw out some branches and it'll look epic! Probably.
I look forward to sharing more with you all. You can find me mostly on Micro growing and Farmacy. In case you're interested, here are links to all my essential threads:
