So, I've got a jar. I wanna use it for curing.. I figure since it's black I can put it in the grow box so it's nice and warm but I don't gotta worry about it being dark. Would this be okay for curing? Also, I could do the same thing with germinating if I put my moist paper towels in there and crack the lid and put it in the box could I do this as well?

be sure to crack it open regularily, the warmth can invite mould faster

peace

any combination of moisture and heat can be a breeding ground , your plus is the black/darkened container , but there is still risk , it can take over and destroy your stash quickly

2 friends last summer lost a lot to mould by curing in their garages , hot summer months , even though they both cracked the jars multiple times a day they both lost it all , one in only 3 days

i cure at room temp and often that room temp is low due to air conditioning

peace

I recycle my pasta sauce jars to cure my nug's. I just keep em in a nice cool dark area for storage and they do the job. Enjoy..K.I.M.

I'm gonna second bob on the room temp thing. I hung some in the shed where it was hot, guess what got mold?

I use the classic flip top glass jars for curing now, and they work great! Less contact with plastic covered metal than the old jars and they just look classy full of nugs.

I will third it.

Yes, Mr piggy, the penguin uses these type of jars too. (its becoming a zoo in here) if you are in the UK you can get good quality ones from ASDA for £1.50 each. The pound shop do 'em for (what was it....oh yeah, a pound) but not as good quality.

The colder and darker the curing environment, the better. I like to use air tight 2 gallon tubs to cure 8 ounces at a time, with a few boveda packs and a hygrometer. After 2 months stock up on ball canning jars. They're cheap, and hold an ounce each generally.

Mostly temperatures in grow boxes are too high for curing. But I suppose that you will not cure for six months.

I always germinate in grow box, because of nicer temps as around, but seeds must stay in wet and dark isolated place.
