I cannot see how it would hurt, but to keep them alive it needs to be kinda cool and moist, or they turn in to compost..
I have thought about it, but not actually done it.
Joedirt , I've read somewhere on the same question that worms will eat the feeder roots of the plant seeing that cannabis plants mainly have feeder roots, I'd stick with worm castings, start a worm farm, lot better for yours babes.

Its just that I have this small compost (15gal) going and I'm looking in there going Man I bet some worms would really like it in there!

Im pretty sure worm dont eat root, those are grubs..
Yes those are grubs. They get to my potted tomatoes each year! Worms won't eat feeder roots, infact they might just aerate the soil for the new roots with their small tunnels! Of course, perlite does aerate too, but personaly I use them in my outdoor fruits and veggies that love the castings :thumbs:
As for the grubs, several birds have made a home up in my property's canopy. I set the buggers down on a sunny spot on a table and they get swooped up in minutes!
When I was growing with BioBizz and some chem additives I threw a few worms in my pots at the beginning of my grow. When it was done and I was breaking the pots down, the worms were still there. I took it as a sign of a healthy soil. No reason they couldn't live thrive and help in a TLO. You might want to add them after the cook so if it gets too hot or too dry at some point they don't die.
