Xenforo to Discourse: The Path & The Plan

It's super easy to upload new smilies, but let's not bring over a bunch of low resolution graphics and broken animations if we can avoid it. I am 100% game to add new, updated stoner graphics.

I can't work without at least 1 joint smiley..... ...I prefer new..better and fresh....

Nope.. we'll do it there.. everyone has a favourite smilie..so we'll not be short...I think you've got a lot more on your plate than smilies getting us over there...

Badges..there are a couple..thinking the Weight ones that are important to reinstate..but they were temporary and not great...so reinstate but with better images..
And the vendor ones..I Think should be won yearly..so either year stamped or killed off every year....

So most images we have now will be defunct....

If anyone has any other precious badge they'd like saved... please speak up....

I like the idea of the vendor badges being year stamped. I'm sure you guys will bring over the length of membership year badges, but that's the only one I think would be really important for people.

I had a trip meself...you know how technophobic I am...no sugar coating...it didn't feel like home..but you know..We are the Home...we are the heart.
Once we get over there it will feel like home... it's US that makes that feeling.

In two minutes I'd found out how to post GIFs..photos...music ...and that is the functions I use the most......2 minutes.

Getting comfortable in LS...a bit..I looked at what @Son of Hobbes was saying about the site index being on the left side of the screen...and yeah... he's right... that'll make site navigation a lot easier...once we get used to it.....


Once we all move..it will feel like home.. because we are there......

The smilies are shite...there wasn't even a smoker......so I was gonna ask @Son of Hobbes if it might be worth saving our most popular ones to see if it will be possible to copy them over...?...

Well, I think it might take me awhile.

I'm just hoping that the general outline is not there, yet.

Best advice I have is to help offer suggestions, ideas, and opinions on making better.

We are leaving Xenforo, no if's, no and's, not but's about it. And we are on a time frame now. And we're sticking to this time frame. Once that time is up, this is done. And that will be what is.

So let's make the new home FEEL like home however we can; and while it won't ever be the old home, our house is where we lay our hats. And that is where ever we go, as long as we're all together.

On your phone?

I've browsed on my phone with it a bit; honestly it's pretty slick.

The sidebar button is up top, contains all your Categories (what we call forums and subforums) with a click of a button:



If you're in a thread where an index is inserted, again, one click:



And you have the entire post index available. Every item in that index is a link to the topic of the post.



So it's a little different than our current setup of posting, but if you edit your first post for updates, you could have one, uniform, incredibly clean post for your updates, and all the replies are to that post.

This is like improved Threadmarks, on crack.

I haven't played around with it yet much on the user side, but on MY side, see those 3 dots next to Categories? I can actually de-select the forums that I don't want to see in my sidebar. So I can actually customize my navigation.
