Sweet Seeds Yozhik grows Crystal Candy Auto & Blow Mind Auto

Day 28

TENT1.JPG

Grow Tent Overhaul

Had a reshuffle in the tent, to make it easier further down the line, in terms of access, etc.
Lights repositioned, plants relocated ... Basically, a bit of a rejig.

TENT2.JPG

Team Sweet Seeds has been allotted the right half of the tent, with the FOUR Crystal Candy Auto girls placed at the back and front, as the slices of bread to a delicious Blow Mind Auto sandwich, that are paired in the middle. Does that make sense?
Forming two orderly queues; tallest at the back; shortest at the front.

TENT_SS1.JPG

You can see how the two Crystal Candy Auto ladies at the back are pretty much identical twins in terms of structure and height, but vastly different to the other two Crystal Candy Autos at the front of the class.

The Blow Mind Auto girls are looking strong and healthy.
It's worth noting that there is a one week differential between these girls, with one of them being the later addition - a substitute for the non-germie.
Maybe it's the difference between an HPS and the CFL, but the structure of these two Blow Mind Auto girls is vastly different to my first experience with this strain a year ago.

Actually, it's something I have noticed over the entire tent, with the internodal spacing - on the whole - being much greater than in past grows.
These plants seem to be a lot more 'open', and stretchier, overall, with the odd exception and pheno-variances.

Now, I also thought it worthwhile to journal the applied method of fighting the Spanish Summer, with a small photographic record of The Heart of the environment management.
The A/c is the hub of the operation.
A'c hot exhaust through the silver aluminium tubing, to the outside.
Cooled air into the Grow Tent via the black intake tubing for the extractor fan.
The extractor fan being outside the tent, leaving nice clean lines inside and plenty of grow room and head height.

So in simple terms, the extractor fan sucks in cooled air directly from the A/c.
The hot exhaust of the A/c is vented directly outside of the building.

If "money was no object", it would be made a lot more efficient by the exhaust tubing being insulated.
It gets FUCKING HOT and acts as an unwanted central heating system.
Don't touch. Burny burny.
The cooling efficiency could also be tweaked by having the extractor exhaust vent directly outside.
Coulda ... Shoulda ... Woulda ...

They are looking lovely, great work mate!
Seems like they are enjoying the hot temperatures. ;)
All the best!

Hi @Sweet Seeds Jay - thanks for stopping in!

Thankfully temps are under control.
25 - 29°C should see them lovin' conditions.

They look the picture of health.
Surprise for me is how open they are.
The internodal distance has caught me by surprise.
Not sure if its the influence of the CFL light as babies, but it's not a structure I have experienced before, so is the logical assumption I'm jumping to.

COMMENTS:

Girls are looking good.
Loving their colour this grow, which I put down to a more complete soil, and less nutrients.
Basically, taking ME out of the equation more, and letting the dirt, and the plants find their own bliss.
Funny how Mother Nature knows better.

Right - something I need to document and put on record.
The Grotek nutes have surprised me - in a very GOOD way.
Tap water ph here is 7.5.
It's crap.
So, moving away from my normal Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect range, had me reaching for the pH Down bottle, ready to give it lashings!

I didn't need to.

Either the Grotek range has the necessary buffers in it, similar to the ph Perfect range, or I just fluked the perfect mix.
When I throw the BlueLabs pH meter into the nutrient mix, it consistently comes out at 6.3 to 6.5, depending on whether I'm a little light or heavy handed on the nutrients.
Right in 'the zone' where I want it.
VERY happy camper.

Also have to mention again how completely different the Blow Mind Auto structure is this time, to my first experience with the strain last year.
I'm still putting it down to the difference between the HPS and CFL in the seedling stage.
The plants this time are a lot more open, with much greater internodal spacing.
OK - I'm running less lights, and they might be a little higher and encouraging more stretch - but - it's more than that.

Anway - on with the show ...

Thanks @archie gemmill - yeah, the growth is noticeably rapid at the moment.
It was VERY easy moving around in there just a few days ago - now its getting somewhat restricted.
And the canopy is evening out too, which I'm a little surprised at.

Just need to help the girls start putting on some weight now - they're looking decidedly anorexic.

Temps are definitely under control now, and "in the zone".
Lows of around 25°C during lights off, and 29°C during lights on when its a scorching day outside.
But generally around 27°C which I'm very relaxed with.
I'm quietly confident that battle has been won.
