Indeed, all that TLC, and for nothing.... truth is, the presence of trichomes, or even the sheer amount of them isn't a guarantee of potency (somewhere here there's an excellent review on potency, what it means, and another on terpenes (from TaNg, maybe both?)...if I can refind them I'll post links, otherwise , everybody, if you know where they are, let Steely know! It's been a long time since I encountered this, like 20 years,.. I got this bag of sticky, nice smelling dank herb that
looked great, but packed no punch at all, nada!! It was indoor grown, and back then, folks who didn't have the right equipment, media, and skills ran into this problem often,...You, however, are doing things right, and still had this happen...

Anyway, as you know, there are other things in those trich' heads besides THC,.... on the other side of the coin, have you even smoked what looked like shwag, and ended up stoned to the bone? LOL! As for your mystery, I got nuth, brother,... maybe one of the Sensei level growers here will have some insight about this,... folks have really covered the bases with questions and possible reasons, at least the usual suspects,... that it happens consistently to you grow to grow, but not strain to strain, is a real puzzler....potent plants cheek-to-jowl with no-stone,... Dragsville, daddy! ...hope we can get some clues as to why..... the only thing I can think of, experimentally, is to change your soil and nute' line, or....OH! hey, I have something maybe maybe,... UVB light has a significant effect on potency, and many growers add this to regular lighting during flowering to really enhance it! I'm new to CFL's (we actually chatted a bit about this in another thread), and have a 300w dual-spec I'm using a supp' lighting, along with any direct sun I can get them (daily, barring rain), so I can't be much of a comparison as such, and this round isn't quite done yet.... but I know there's folks here who do, so maybe one of them can help you with this potential source of trouble... gotta wonder though, as there's also plenty who don't have UVB supp', using CFL's and get fine-ass smoke from it,.... BTW, is your CFL dual spec? Anyway, point being, if you can't pin down the source, and you're using quality seeds, some sort of major change up is called for,.... also, PM the seed companies about this, they may have something to 'fess up about certain batches of seeds/strains, or other info to help you dial this phenomena out,...
