So my girls have some white spots on their leaves. I've known about a gnat problem that I have been fighting but this seemed new. I have 2 grow areas, both seem to be getting the white spot condition.
One of the areas has a volunteer lady bug population that I'm hoping sticks around.
I have purchased Zero Tolerance Herbal Pesticide. Says its good on mites, gnats, insects and fungus. It also says safe for edible plants.
Please see photos for plants and label.
I'm looking for a definite diagnosis and anyone that has used this pesticide with or without success.

Hi Aku-... haven't used this product, but looking at the active ingredients., I'd test on one seedling first,... some of these mixed aromatic oil products can roast the f*ck out of the leaves, especially young tender ones!.... what i do see looks like thrip damage; these are highly mobile, jumping, flying (adults) SOB's that can and often dine-and-shine,... you look for them, but sometimes don't see them, just the damage; other times, the little shit's see you, and get evasive! :cuss:...I have them outdoors every time, they are ubiquitous,...larva and adults feed, larva pupate in the soil, but are non-feeding during this stage,...diatomaceous earth will kick ass there, and on many other soil vermins,... Not sure what I see under the leaves, but maybe something, more spots, eggs...? ....thrips will feed top and bottom, while mites tend to stay below, hidden, at least initially... thrips are usually pretty tiny, this dash (-) would be a fair gauge for size and shape,... So, test that stuff first, and even then, multiple treatments may push their tolerance limits,... even neem can do this, if too conc., or too often sprayed... I had good results with products with Spinosad in it, and of course, Azamax (a derivative of neem),...spinosad is a neurotoxin derived from a bacterium, and is labeled organic, like pyrethrum (from chrysanthemums, also a neurotoxin)...:xlaugh:.... it's not that broad in killing power species-wise, but it worked the thrips over hard! Best of all, spinosad leaves minimal residues behind,... Monterey Gardens brand, and Capt'n Jack's (Home Depot) make spinosad products, ready spray and concentrates,... Azamax is a mean hammer, and kills many things, safely.... it's spendy, but if you want an all-in-one, it's tough to beat! :ama:

Thanks Waira. Max rep for you sir. Exact info I was after. Now, if I could find anyone that can testify as to the effectiveness of this Zero Tolerance shtuff, I'd be a much happier camper, er grower.

..thanks mate!-- ...with so many products out there these days, it'll be a craps shoot to find somebody else that's used it,... drop your question around at various places, your homies, maybe even the Live Help Thread,.... I'll ask around too,....

I havent used it but almost bought it. cuz Ive known a few ppl as well as outdoor gardeners to use it with excellent results. Ive used serenade,Biocide, azomax, frass and various others with good results.I knew the name sounded familiar too.ED rosenthals design i i remember.. can also be created from organic materials but a one shot buy ya cant beat man.I too say go for it.:Sharing One: i bet itll do ya fine.

ZT is good stuff made by Ed Rosenthal and it smells like christmas. Like anything organic you have to keep up with it regularly for a bit.

IT IS HOT!!! Even the "ready to use" should be diluted 2:1 at least, unless you want to see what crispy plants look like.

:peace:

Of course, I haven't seen hide nor hair of a gnat since the bottle arrived. For good measure I put a light dusting over the gnat nix rocks I already had down. Crossin' my fingers they stay away. Thanks to everyone who responded. I just hope my ladybugs make it through this.

I've got 5 seedlings going that have purple phenos, can't wait till they start to show.

I am building my own formula as I find it more reliable and cheaper too

Main Ingredients so far
Citronella
Neem Oil
Pyrethyrums

Great for soil and plants, I also spray all the surrounding areas myself as it does keep the bugs from even getting close

Ed Rosenthal's Zero Tolerance

It is mostly Rosemary Oil. It works. But, It is really strong, I used it on a photo grow a few years back.

It was thrips that I used it for, which leaves spot, or more specifically, dashes on your leaves. Little strips of white on your leaves. Hoppin' bugs on your soil too (adults)

I would use it again. However, as most older grower's believe, there is not ONE good cure. It is recommended to use a few different items in your arsenal for use on a rotational basis.
