(best male on left, best female so far center rear)
I started a little breeding project, with some of Mephisto's genetics, and some of a random breeder called Green Works Collective. Green Works took a menage-a-Tyrone (Mephisto), reversed it, and crossed it with a Deep Sea Creature. So these little babies are more mephisto than anything else. Still seems a lot of the tyrone purps is coming through, because 5 out of 7 were male. When I grew the purps 7 out of 9 were male. frustrating if i werent looking for a male.
Within this blog entry I will house all of the grow/bloom information for Round 1 of the breeding project.
UPDATE!
will you LOOK at those flowers! I've never had a male like this before, and i really think he's something special. Has to be that deep sea creature coming out in force. He STANK, and all the flowers were fully purple on the outside when they popped, it looked so pretty. purple and white flowers, and all this yellow dust all over the place. I got so lucky.
First 4 weeks Feed Schedule
So here is what I ahve fed these babies so far. They are on the same regimen as my Chems, since they are only a couple of days apart.
Week 1
Cali-Magic cal-mag, Roots Trinity, and Recharge @ 1/2 strength
lots of H2O
Week 2
Sensi Grow @ 1/4-1/3 strength, B-52 @ 2/3 strength
Cal mag, Trinity, and recharge @ 2/3 strength
Week 3
Sensi Grow @ 1/2 sterngth
cal mag, trinity, recharge, and B-52 @ 2/3 strength
between 18-21 days, I start giving them Armor-si, which is a silica.
Week 4
Sensi Grow @ 2/3 strength, B-52 as well. cal mag, trinity and recharge are at full strength at this point.
Tomorrow, I'm giving them a little bit of heavy 16s PRIME, to get them ready for flowering. I will post the next feeds 2 weeks at a timem.

weeks 1 & 2
at first, I started them in cups, because I wasn't sure if they were even going to sprout or not, and so I didn't want to waste the soil.
sure enough, though, they all came up. some STRONG genetics. vigorous little seedlings.

week 2
So after a bit, I transfered them into pots. (this is a re-post. original text below)
I have all 7 of the babies in their forever homes now. Yes I know, I transplanted autos. I know everyone says you can't do it, but I've found that if they are longer running phenos, and the plants are super healthy when you do it, as long as you are careful, they should do alright. Mine did not even show any signs of shock. they took it all in stride, and didnt even slow a little bit.
So far we have one male, two others I think are males but have not shown signs yet, and one I think is a female. Though only the one male has sexed. He is a few days older than the others, so that makes sense too. The one I think is a female has the most perfect serrations I've seen on a baby in some time. All in all, they are some extremely vigorous, fast growing F1 Autoflowers. I can't WAIT to see how they look.
Starting to get signs of some secondaries coming in, at the nodes. FAT fingers on those leaves, aren't there?

week 3
for feed, not much changed aside from increasing their feed a little, and they got bigger somewhat.
Here are some photos
a root ball from the first male I culled. I wanted to see what the root structure looked like.
Here are some photos

week 4
So I ended up with 2 males, and 2 females.
they are BEAUTIFUL, and strong looking. They will get some heavy 16 'Prime' next feeding, tonight, so that they can get a lottle boot as they start to flower out.

week 5 MALES
so the boys have gone into their forever homes, a little 2x2x4, with a single COB for lighting. They don't have much room, but then again they dont really need it. they seem to be staying prettty compact. The taller one is so pretty. he's so symmetrical, and he already has 9 point leaves. I think if I don't top him he will get 11's on him. and he's got such a nice smell to his stem. the other is more compact, but has no smell whatsoever. something about him i just don't like as much. can't put my finger on it, but it's there. They're getting tall, already halfway up the tent wall. I always get nervous right around this time. One mistake and all my other girls are done for. (Don't mind so much the other breeding babies, but my chems are getting controlled pollination, so I still have plenty to smoke) both plants are the same color, its just that I Had to desaturate the red from one of the pics of the tall one, because the purple was so bright that I couldnt see the pollen sacs very well.
TALL BOY - stinky
SHORTY
he makes me so nervous.
Pollination Day Male update w/photos!
So today I completely topped both of the males, because the next day after I started feeding them the conni Sensi, they hot up[ several inches, and i had to go in before they burned themselves on the lights. The full body shots are a little behind today, by 3 days (I didnt want to get my camera around the pollen while i was harvesting. that stuff will get in my lens. )
Plus, they don't look nearly as pretty now that i've taken the tops off of them. But i only need them for a few more days. I'm just waiting for another pair of females to ripen enough, then they're going to get some too. I pollinated ALL my autos, controlled, one branch each for the tall male, one branch each for the short male. Not only did i pollinate the two females from my sprout test, but i also pollinated BOTH chems, and the 3 bears. I want a wide pool to play with.
This is a full view of the taller male. They are in a 2x2x4 tent with a single COB. not much light, so they are stretchier than they would be with proper lighting. I am not really interested in letting the males go right now till they're dying. I have too many other things going.
.......Here's the top of the taller one
And the top of the smaller one:
Here's a closeup of the stalk, and some of the naners:
This one is just pretty
They are getting Connoisseur Sensi Bloom, they're not getting all the additives & boosters the females are, because i don't WANT them to blow up like that.

wk 5 female update
this is a little bit out of order. I had so many things going on that day, I uploaded this update, and forgot to finalize it, so when i shut down my PC, it did not save
oops!
But here they are @ 30 days old. One is only a couple of CM taller than the other. they look a lot different in height than they really are in real life.
.........................

And here are the overhead views.

Pollination Day FEMALE update w/photos and height
So here we have the girls! They aer getting so big, aren't they? it's a special day for them today. Today.... we POLLINATE!
First i did a slight defoliation, and opened them up a little more, by tying them to bamboo poles spaced around the pot.
Here is the height and overhead view of the one on the LEFT. First, in INCHES:
and they haven't stopped yet! I'll post the final height next to the yard stick when I harvest, but i thought you would all like to see about how big they are now.
I forgot to photo inches of the shorter one, but it's only a few centimeters difference, you can barely tell. The real difference is in the leaves, and structure, the shorter one has wider, shorter fingers, while the taller one has narrower, long leaves. but then again THATS not really much of a difference. I dont even know if anyone but me can really even tell. Can you?
........
they got their bloom boosters, their Prime, and a heavy silica/trinity/elemental feed, just before i did this. I've also been treating the entire room with Green Cleaner, just as a preventative. That will stop for the next week or so.
Anyone ever had to treat a pollinated plant? just curious, but I wonder how close to the actual pollination date you can start spraying them again. They are in no danger, I use it as a preventative treatment, but i still don't like leaving something out of my routine.
This was NOT an easy photo to take:
HARVEST PHOTOS BOTH GIRLS
So I finally got to edit all the harvest photos from the breeding project. I ended uo getting two VERY different plants.
Skinny was strange. (#1) she grew so close together, it was ridiculous. I even tried tying her out, and she just pulled up the stakes, and yanked herself back together, like she was freezing to death. Not very frosty, compared to most of my other plants. I had a run of 6 plants in a row to harvest that week, and so by the time i got to her, I was exhausted, and since I wasnt choosing her for breeding, nor really to keep much of (which i now regret) She hung upside down until she was dry. I didnt even bother to trim her,.
I tried a bud of her. Not much taste, or smell. GREAT buzz, though. really heady, heavy. She didnt color really at all. The buds were kinda airy , too. Not something I want to keep in the program. Here she is:
..................
Now, HERE is my prize pony. Her name is Viola. She had a similar bud structure to her, though a lot chunkier, thicker. Both had a lot of amnesia (mephistto) to them.
She smelled very unique. I'm having hard time describing it. Electric sugared pepper? I dont know, but its addictive. She has a beautiful purplish color to her. Not all of her, just the parts that got the most light. Really knockot bud. Not too much on the flavor side. But I got a lot of seeds from her, from the purple father, too, so we will see before too long what sorts of babies we have. I have to get through my grease monkies, and all the other stuff I just started, before I grow any.
Here's some photos of her.

wk 7
So I can tell a clear difference between the two females now. They are as different as the male were. One is shorter, thicker, and is covered in frost already...
AND SHE"S VIOLET!!!
so that means that i have a purple male, and a purple female, for the first round of seeds.... she's the one we are keeping the genetics from, and breeding together. I wish it would have shown up in the photos, but it's still too light in the flower to show
I have every confidence that it will show through soon. This is 'Viola'
........
.....
I still have a small amount of pollen from that purple male, too. I have no idea how to save it properly, ill have to research. I'm nervous though because I've DONE research,. and yet the three methods i have tried have not worked. All three ended up with unpollinated females.
SO- if any of y'all have any ideas? I've got it dry, but i don't want to freeze it yet. message in the discussion panel if you have any ideas. last time I had it wrapped in bubble wrap and stuffed in a sealed jar, and stuck it in the back of the freezer. it was only frozen for about 2-3 months. no dice.
ON TO THE GIRLS AGAIN!
One of them is tall, and skinny. she doesn't have much frost, and her branches are so close together some of them are starting to fuse together at the base. She's slower, too. I don't like her as well. I think she may not be kept. at least not all of the seeds. I didn't fully pollinate. I did a couple of branches of each one. one pair of the green male, one pair of the purple. they are coming along strong, very vigorous, and no deformities, no hermaphrodites. and the violet one is just beautiful. I couldn't get it to come out in my photo, it's still pretty light, and my camera isn't really working. It took me 20 minutes to get it to focus. I'm getting a new camera at the end of the month. Here's 'Skinny Minnie'. The bamboo pole is 4 feet long, to give an idea of how big she is.
...
...
What do y'all think of a contest? I have been thinking, and waiting to see if these girls would get big enough for me to do something, and i also wanted to make sure the pollination worked, before i said anything
(I know i accidentally copy/pasted my paragraph for it.. so those of you that saw it before i deleted it had some idea this was coming...)
What do You think? comment below if you want to have a contest
It would be something along the lines of 'guess the weight' or 'guess the seed count' I'm not sure yet. I'm open to suggestions. The winner would get some of the seeds from this first round, and I would ask that you do a journal, so i can see how it does under another growers thumb. If no one responds, I probably won't do it. Just trying to think of something fun, and a way for me to see if they express differently with different conditions.

wk 8 sorry it's late!
I have been SOOOO busy these past few weeks, I have plants coming down, I have plants going up, I have my breeders going on, and journaling it all. so things are a little slow. I had a ton of homework, but i wanted to get a little out about my girls. they are looking AMAZING!!
They will be starting their flush next week. All they are getting now is their base nutes, and some big bud. Also interspersed w my cal mag/trinity/recharge mix once a week, and plenty of fresh water.
You can see a CLEAR difference between the two plants, like night and day. There is a smaller one, not as crystally. It has a stomper structure, but is a little smaller. It is also taking a lot longer than Viola.
I don't really like it much. We will see when it's done though. smoking it is the real test, and i wont know which one i really want to work with the most till i taste them. It's certainly sticky, though nowhere NEAR the other.
Here is Skinny Minnie, the stomper-structured pheno. she's slower, and all green.
.......
......
I really think Viola is something special. She's purpling, a real deep, vibrant magenta. It started on the leaves, but it's creeping onto the flowers now, though i dont have photos of it. IShe's got such THICK resin production she feels wet to the touch, though is by no means wet. Heavy, heavy coverage reaching well onto the fan leaves, and a beautiful open structure that allows light to get all the way to the bottom, no problem. She barely even needed a trim up, like the other one did.
I have never seen any plant with this level of trichome/resin/stickiness production. Shes so sticky/wet I have to watch for pm on her, because I have no idea of her resistances, and its humid around here right now. She's a WONDERFUL mother, and took every site and pumped all that good food into some GIANT seeds. I mean big, fat, striped seeds that are already popping out of their casings, in some cases. That purple father gave me a ton of seeds, more so than the green father i think.
It's getting close to time for a weigh-in, to see what we have. Wonder how many seeds there will be? anyone got a guess? There are 2 branches on each plant pollinated. One of each father. About halfway down.
Here is Viola, the purple pheno. She's EXTRAVAGANT when it comes to the resins. Some of her Trichs are even pink!

General Autoflower Feeding Schedule (complete)
This seemed easier to me, than just posting a little bit here, a little bit there. Better to get the entire schedule on one page, that way anyone wanting to check it out, or copy it down, doesnt have to sift through all the different pages to try and put it together. Any anomalies I will put on the page it's happening on. Otherwise you can just assume that my girls are getting the normal posted schedule, on time, and are having no troubles. this is not an exact guide. this is what i do with all of my own plants., because everyone has their own rhythmn, and their plants will as well. This is only general guidelines for what to do, and when. Our environments are not exactly alike, so our plants will not eat exactly alike, even if they are the same strain.
in the first 1-10 days:
lite (1/8-1/4 strength)
cal mag (any variety) trinity (roots organics) (both together.w/recharge as well.)
and mycos (I use growers recharge) once btween days 1-5
if it needs feeding twice within those first 5 days, I use just 1/4 strength cal-mag in plain RO water, to moisten the soil
I get them a good fresh H2O feed in there within the 10 days as well.
around days 7-8, I start adding in a light Sensi G feed (grow nutrients @ 1/8-1/4 strength), and on off days, a cal-mag / H2O feed in between them, until days 14-15.
If they are still doing well, I start giving cal-mag at full strength.
between days 14-18ish, I will give them a single feeding of silica (2ml/gal) and sensizyme(full st.),
and then IMMEDIATELY after that, they will get a full strength cal mag/trinity/recharge feed
between days 14-21 increase Sensi Grow to 8ml /gal (2ml / ltr). I continue on at these strengths, using Sensi Grow...
until days 30-40 (depending on the plant) I begin the switch week to Sensi Bloom, and start giving them Bud Candy as well. continuing to alternate nutrient feeds with the cal mag/h20 feeds.
At days 40-50, I start adding in Big Bud with the rest of the nutrients. Continue to alternate with CM/h2o.
around day 45-ish, start using some b-52 in there with the cal mag/h2o feeding.
days 50-55ish, start using Overdrive instead of Big Bud in there with the base nutrients.
Depending on strain, start reducing/stopping your base nutrients between days 60-70.
If still going beyond that, a couple of weeks, use Overdrive and Sensizyme 1-2x/wk, with Trinity in there @ 1/2 - 2/3 strength on off feed days.
Last week-10 days, I flush.
I use Sensi for most of the nutrients.
Trinity comes from roots organics, recharge comes from (edit name)
any questions just post them in the discussion, FEED SCHEDULE capitalized somewhere in there so I can catch it easier, and I'll answer it as soon as I see it.
