Here is the response..everything is 100% organic aside from medusas magic.
That is interesting, I am not sure where they are coming from about our line. The only product that we would say is not 100% organics because we use Calcium Nitrate in it would be the Medusa’s Magic and the only reason we add any into that blend is because we have to stabilize one of the active ingredients before we can add it into the batch. One of the active ingredients in the Medusa’s Magic is digested chicken livers. We get in fresh chicken livers from foster farms and spend an entire day blending them with table top blenders. Once they are all blended into a slurry , we put them into a heat exchanger to strip off all the amino acids, proteins and enzymes. The finished product is rich in organic acids, and microbial food. The downfall of this concentrate is that it is acidic by nature and can not be stabilized with more organic acids like the rest of the nutrients. And we really don’t want to use a preservative to stabilize it because they destroy the protein profiles we are trying to get into the medium for the microbial population to use. So after years and years of playing with stabilizers, we ended up adding calcium nitrate to the liver concentrate to prevent it from spoiling and exploding.
In the past two years we removed the Potassium phosphate that was once allowable to the OMMRI standard because the product manufacturer we were using went out of business. We have been in the process of re-registering the new label around the country. But sense it is already registered with the current label we keep it on the bottle until we can move to “a single” new label for the entire country. The biggest nightmare we have is the regulations in this country are not universal from state to state. We can be good with 40 states and then have california step in and change everything. So until we can get all states to accept one label we are kind of stuck running the old one to avoid penalties. We also offer a feather protein digest on it own called pegasus potion that is simply digested feather meal that we extract off only the simple nitrogen proteins. Great source of usable nitrogen without the risk of stress, elongation and burning. That would be a good alternative to using the medusas magic.
Other then Medusa, everything else in our line is organic and natural. Natural meaning we use a lot of calcium limestone, humic acids, fulvic acids. So those would not be considered organic materials due to the OMMRI standard of carbon based inputs. They are mineral based. But not Chemical based.
I agree with his statement that mineral based fertilizers are synthetic. I am wondering if he is getting Nectar for the Gods confused with Nectar A and B from GreenStone Nutrients. They are completely synthetic mineral based. Let me know your thoughts. And feel free to just gift the nutrients to a friend if you are not comfortable with my answers. Or hold on to them and if you are ever in the Oregon area, you can tour the facility and see what we do and how we do it. Certainly not interested in having a debate with someone who has no idea of who we are and what we do. We are comfortable making the products we make and go to great lengths to protect our environment and surrounding community by implementing things like our 100,000 square foot rain water collection system that we make our nutrients out of, to taking all of our filtered waste products from our production facility and adding it to a local bio-digester to generate electricity for a neighboring town. Now if we could just figure out the plastic aspect of our products, we would literally have a negative carbon foot print.
Well, that’s a cool answer at least!
