100% Organic Grow.

As for the soil being warm it's actually only been sitting about 24 hours as of right about now I didn't disturbed it to might tonight just about 3 solo cups worth to re pot my tomato plant lol

And I think I get what your saying that the Dr earth's is a void base but it can't support life and be a tlo because of the way it's packaged and handled. (I think that boils down to what you were saying) but with it being a good base it doesn't take as much as starting with say promix or something from scratch correct?

I'm thinking with that kit being an all in one packet and only 15 bucks (seems like a screaming deal to me) and just for poops and smiles I would like to try building a mix if you think the coco casting rice and perlite would make a good base for that kit

yes to answer your question about the Dr earths soil.yeah cherry Toms are fun.in a cloth or air pot theyre not designed for that type of environment, ive been that route.and in organics I had roots popping over the top of my 3.5 gallon #5 pot.needs to be bigger for a more full rounded uptake over time within organics.dry soil wont get that job done as easily man.and that freshly composting stuffs you used might cause it to freak out, juust sayin lol

i can totally build n help you with a soil from those things and that kit.certainly!

might be a little airy with the coco but ill get to your mix later today or this evening man ,kinda need to smoke..backs hurting atm lol! it looks juust fine.ill add that pack into the mix n see what we can get.:Sharing One:

It's all good brother go take care of that back

Yeah I was just thinking about the coco and peat because i can get 5kg bricks of coco tek for 6 bucks and a bale of sphagnum peat for not to much think a 4cuft pack is like 15 bucks here

And now that I found castings lol just figured it might be a nice light fluffy mix and be a good base for a tlo soil

Good to know about the maters figured it might be worth a try but I can foresee starting new seeds before spring gets in

So are the smart pots kinda a scam for vegitables and do the tlo soils not work to sell for tomatoes and cucumbers and leafy greens? If I could improve upon my vegetable garden that'd be great and I'd love to lean to produce better produce who says this just has to be for bud right?

yeah the peat and hulls n coco are a great thing man.and you can reuse it!thats whats key too imo.

the cloth pots are good but the problem is they fizzle out since the roots of many veggies tend to run heavy and hard and fast due to their genetic make up.what you want is no less than a 5 gallon or even 7 would be better. but a 5 true gallon plastic pot works well too.so use a bigger cloth pot n they'll do a lot better.or make a raise bed, or some sorta bed.there are multiple recipes in the tlo recipes sticky in organics.they dont mind a somewhat dry soil but with the dry and wet combo of small cloth pots they again, fizzle out and require waaay more water than they'll truly need in the proper environment man.

Awesome dude I'm loving all this knowledge I'm getting from you on this new growing style way better than the 113-13-13 till it in and plant method I ran for years with my vegetables

I'm going to do my next grow in this dr earth pot of gold kelp cotton seed and fish meal mix I'm cooking now I reckon it's going to produce much better results than I got this last time in my first grow lol

But looks like I got some business coming in so once I get paid from this I'm going to order that kit and some peat and sphagnum moss pick up 100 pounds of castings and some perlite unless I can find the rice hulls local

Actually had a friend from church tell me I should sell this stuff at the farmers market. Doesn't seem like a bad idea and I can make the peat based stuff cheap enough that I could actually turn a profit on it so hey I might actually be able to afford to eat then haha

But since it's still early in the cook for this mix I'm doing now what more should I add if anything I'm still looking for lime around here and if I can get some castings in the next few days I'll add in a few cups of them as well

Hi guys, been using my own compost for years in my orchard, beautiful results always, now... I'm new to brewing compost tea, and this has been my 3 attempts at it, so I think I need some counseling:
I followed the proportions in the link www.microbeorganics.com, so 2.38% compost in water (I use my own recovered rain water, pH 6.5) and 0.5% molasses. So I fill a 5L bucket with that water, add the compost (125 g) and the molasses (25 mL). I hope the maths is correct haha, so these were my results:
1. First time I didn't have molasses, just added some fungi (trichoderma harzianum), after 36 hs. the tea smelled earthy and fungal and its pH was 7.4
2. Second round added some molasses (maybe I overdosed, around1%) and next day it was pungent, acid, pH=1.8 !! so I threw it in my pond that was somewhat alkaline at the time, it loved it BTW!
3. This time I followed strictly the proportion and added just 25 mL of molasses (0.5%) and...same result! pH went down, starting from 6.8 and finishing at 2.4 this morning!, Dumped it again and will start a new brew now, this time adding just 0.25% molasses.

Temps along the brew could have ranged from 18 to 30C (summer here), especially during the second attempt, so I kept it stable at 20-25C during my third attempt.

Any input from the experts around?

Thanks!

Well I won't be much help to you I'm still learning from the master. EoF is freaking beast with this stuff so I'm sure he will chime in soon for you if you haven't started off on your 4th shot I'd hold off till her gets back to you my self personally I would have ran with the first batch but then again I'm not an expert lol. Welcome in by the way :) regards chuck

Thanks Freedom! I started going strictly by the book, dose and proportions wise now and, yes! I'm almost stalking EoF cause I repeated my post on his thread haha.
Thks for the input!
