WEEK 3 from seed

20 days old, crippled one is 13.
IMG_5397.jpgIMG_5398.jpg

removed the additional recirc pump, result was a 1C decrease in water temp.
mix new batch at 1.2EC, seems a little bit high, leaves are getting darker. will dilute it to 1EC, decide after runoff measurements.
gave another 3 day drought before res change, seen roots at the bottom of 18l pots.
feeding 4x15mins drip (0,6 lt day) having slight runoff, wont increase duration anymore but frequency.

im not sure if these girls are small for 20days. any feedback appreciated.
i am trying to keepem as healthy as possible. abuse will be upon them in mid to late flowering
btw, indoor autos are for having a stash asap in first run. i dont think autos are gonna find a chance to get in the tent anymore.

ok i got the first problem. an as far as i read on internet, its one of the biggest problems of hydro. slime.
its said to be caused by organic matter. which can be a piece of paper i put to the bottom of the pots. i cant remember anything organic other than that.
i first noticed some white bubblelike things floating on the water. then it fogged the water and covered air stones. besides changing res, im now applying 1ml/liter h2o2 and ordered a product named azoo algae prevent, waiting for it to arrive. hope thats gonna help. if things go bad, i will turn the system into dtw until next grow.

Love the setup ganjalf looks very clean. I had the slime problem too, making the res area completely lightproof helped tons. I still ended up killing my girls cuz i got too ambitious and started watering too much too early tho, so im not sure if the slime had any negative effects. i did notice that my drip lines had zero slime on the inside. I think a product like Drip Clean helps keep slime down too.

thanks Jayar!
slime is really sneaky. im not sure if drip clean helps fighting with it. i use a sponge before pump as a mechanical filter, had no problem about clogging till now. since the roots are not hanging in reservoir, slime is not big trouble though. i have organic matter going in to res in every watering so i decided to supress it with h2o2 till the end of the grow. roots are in perfect health.

i have read about slime for hours. the conclusion i came is to sterilize everything, kill all the life in res with antibiotics, afterwards fill the res with beneficial bacteria (tea, EWC, some aquarium products what you prefer ) and feed them veery light. this biological life you created uses all the food slime needs. dont make full res changes, always keep %10-20 in. keep anything organic out of the room. hope this may be of help.

Ganjalf

Neat drip system.

How does it compare with regular pots hand watered.

Are you finding it to be a pain in its own way (monitoring etc.) than the old hand watering.

Have used drip before but big five gallon deals which are really difficult to work with.

Looking good. Will keep an eye on your grow as they grow!

Cheers

Thanks Gcase
My pots are also 5gal. i just had to move them around once, they are heavy even when they are not full.
The only advantage is drip handles watering, the single most important daily labor gals need. My job requires some travel. i check ph every now and then thats all. I employed 3 different timers, they also do their job really well. I measured ph change patterns before the grow, ppm readings of nute levels etc. Having the safest feeding schedule, i think i dialed in on the first run. However, multiple plants on same feeding system makes clones a better alternative imo.

Howdy ganjalf. There is safety in hydro when not on sight--smart move.

Found the brand you are using and will take a look.

Cheers

Week 5
Day 34 from seed

I still cant believe the amount of growth in the last 6 days. They are stretching like a mf yoga instructor! The biggest one is already 60cm. Again tried 1.2 EC but they wanted 1.0EC and i did as commanded. runoff is 1.1EC. ph stable at 5.7-5.8. rh %40-%50. gave a light flush before res change 3 days ago. applying 1ml/5lt h2o2 every day. growing bigger pistils on nodes but no bud forming yet. i may run out of vertical space if growth continues at this rate for the next few weeks. hope they stop soon.

i will continue feedingem grow nutes for the next 2 weeks.

the smallest one on the left is what stunted growth means for autoflowering plants.

i dont know when should i switch to HPS. Id be happy if someone advises on this.

peace

Getting nice and full in there ganjalf!! Ladies are looking perfectly healthy bro nicely done. :Sharing One:
