Lighting 1st DWC grow, BAM by Pal

I'm no DWC expert but it's you PH a little low?

As far as I'm aware with DWC you start off on the low end of the scale (5.5) and build it up towards veg (5.6-5.7) then the flowering stage (5.8-6.1)
As you can see from my plant Tang, I'm no DWC expert either and that info I have may be incorrect, any hydro guys wanna jump in on this? I appreciate you looking in on my grow all the same mate, I'm gonna go recalibrate my PH meter because if it's PH that's been giving me these issues I'll be vexed :

PH pen was .1 under where it should be so that could explain her being pale early on, checked the res after calibration and we're at 5.8 so i'l leave it there until told otherwise by someone with hydro experience

Yea TaNgs right Pal ...you want 5.5-5.6 for weeks 1-2 & then 5.7-5.8 but not higher than 5.8 until sex/bloom ....then 5.8-6.0 for the rest of the grow bro.Maybe i coulda explained that 1 a bit better & think thats what I said before ?.If i was a digit or two out then sorry dude ,im a stoner !.:smokebuds:general rule is below 5.8 for veg & above for bloom ,:check:after week 2 always between 5.7 & 5.8

Now im worried the EC will be a bit much looking at the size comparison to the 16oz girl :jawlus that net pot is fkn huge ,making her look bigger !...Maybe pull out a L & replace with water to drop it a bit mate .1.0 again should be fine ,sorry to mess you around ,but its hard to judge from a couple pics & now you can see things like the 16oz its easier to see .

She can still grow huge if turned around asap mate ... & I think TaNg may have pointed out the not obvious but probable cause of the problem ,everything else sounds bang on ..do the roots look good ? couple pics of them would be cool for your next daily update !!:GoooAuto:

Mate nothing to apologise for, you can only advise me to the best of your knowledge just as everyone else, I appreciate all input. The thing is I've kept the PH at 5.5-5.6 for the first two weeks but that was more likely 5.4-5.5 due the the meter being a .1 out. I just didn't expect .1 to make THAT much difference, she's at 5.8 now so I'll keep an eye and not let her go up anymore and make sure I stay between 5.7 - 5.8 and see if she perks up.
Roots look good, nice and white :thumbs: You say 1.2 EC may be too high now, how will I know if that's true? Sometimes I find it hard to tell the difference between nute burn and mg deficiency, is it nute burn that makes the tips go more white than the yellow/brown from mg? Or is there an easier way to find out? thanks for always checking back, it's reassures me to carry on with this hydro malarky!

You will see tip burn dude ... its unmistakable & only occurs on the very tips 1st & then down the sides ... nothing from the center or all around like cal/mg deff . You can wait & see before you drop it mate ?.
PH is fkn essential Pal ...a drift when in the center of TaNgs chart there is fine but under 5.5 or over 6.2 & your in shit territory my friend :
I want to see you grow some beasts as much as you do bud .As soon as 1 of the noobs I help kills it i can relax ..until then im stuck in groundhog day so do me a favor yea :howdy::group:

I'll wait for that new growth to grow and check the tips before I change the res again, PH is where I want it right now so gonna let it sit. The annoying thing is I should have just calibrated my PH meter BEFORE the start of the grow, then I would have been in the sweet range and things could have been better, she was sat at 5.4 for almost two weeks so it's understandable she isn't too pleased with me..ah well, another lesson learned and that's why I'm here.
And LOL I will do my very best to make you proud Vira, I'm not one for giving up either so even if this first attempt doesn't make it I got two more beans waiting :smokebuds:

I always try to find to average Pal ...so if im in the 5.5-5.6 zone I look for 5.55 .... after that stage its just under 5.8 really (5.75!) until bloom & then you got between 5.8 & 6.0 .If you are clever like Seymour you will know when 5.9 is better than 5.8 ect but I aint that good bro & anything above 5.8 but below 6.0 is good enough for me :smokebuds:I check the meter every week now & its usually half a point to a point out so left unchecked can fuk you up :no:

I'm gonna remember to calibrate it often just to be safe, hopefully I'll be able to afford a bluelab PH meter sooner than later because the EC truncheon is flawless. And you know what just to be safe (I'm worried there's not enough CalMag in there) I think I'll give her a fresh res change tonight up to 1.0 EC and 5.7 PH with half strength of CalMag, I'll give her til the third week marker (day 21) and make a decision about keeping or replacing her, hopefully she will bounce back and surprise us all!

Later on when they start to feed a lot you will find the EC is to high at times & needs dropping ... rather than a whole res change you can just add back water .If the res is full you can remove some nutes & refill with water.The second option will obviously drop the EC more as nutes have been removed as well :howdy::Coolio:
