Lighting 1st DWC grow, BAM by Pal

No idea how but she's still fighting at day 24. Roots looking lightly brown but I think that's just the colour of the nutes staining them, still waiting for a hydro pro to get back to me on this root issue! Snapped quite a few pics to show where she is at right now. I'm slowly upping the ec by .2 every 24 hours because she continues to look hungry with no signs of burn, trying to read what the plant wants because we all gotta learn sometime.

Hey bud .She is a fighter like all DP beans mate .Been through a lot though . All the way those roots have stayed really under developed Pal & this is prob now im guessing . The struggle from day 1 has left her stunted my friend ... After the dudes got culled from my multi mishmash bucket ,the last girls roots went bad as you know .She got the axe yesterday & I dropped to more to start again mate .

With this grow I think the probs started when you germed straight into the bucket ... not an ideal propagating zone with that cool res & probably a to damp cube ect .I would keep the baby (still in the net basket & pebbles if you like ) somewhere with nice temps & RH .Then transplant to the bucket AFTER germination & you could even keep her there until you see the root if you keep the pebbles & cube at the right moistness.

Once in the bucket use canna start & rhizo for the 1st 2 weeks & switch to aqua after that ... I have a theory that baby really don't like the aqua vegga to early ?.

Don't reuse the pebbles if poss ... i think that may have been the cause of the SR rot ?.

1st 2 weeks are the most important & stressfull (as you now must know !). Get them through that happy & these strains grow themselves Pal .

... consider getting some bennie tea bro . This stuff by all accounts is a DWC res issue miracle cure & im making some right now to add & should have no more problems with rot of anything like that ....if interested read the msg's from Jackal on my profile & follow the links :thedogsbollocks:

page 5 of seymours SR thread is how most people germ (some miss out the paper towel bit) & the bench mark for getting babys going in DWC ...go read it again brotha :stylez rasta smoke:

I did snap off 2 MM taproots a few days after they hit the res ,due to too much bubbles & I usually use the old pump & diffusers for babys with less bubbles for that reason...you could get a T piece & split your air line to bubble a spare bucket until they grow a bit mate ? best not use the shit pumps although you can ...but less o2 may do more harm than good .

Anything you wanna ask I'll answer best I can dude ... I fkd up over 10 F1 beans before I got things half right ,so your already learning 10 times faster than I did !!!

Thanks for all the info Vira, I've got everything I need for a fresh start I just really don't wanna chop her down! Do you think it's a lost cause altogether or could I still get bud from this plant, even as a stunted plant? I stunted one of my first soil girls and got 20g less then the other in identical conditions. Not worried about the overall yield would just be nice to see her through. On top she looks like she's improving but the roots are still breaking off even though they're healthy and white..
If the best thing to do now is germinate another seed I'll take your word for it :
I've read over Seymours germination section again - he's saying to soak the pebbles and cubes at 5.8 not 5.5? Also I've got root riot cubes which arrived after my rockwool, are they the better option?

Go steady with the EC though mate ....I got tip burn on the 16oz @ 1.4 (1.8 to you ) & there healthier .?....your roots could be any number of things Pal & im not much good with them myself atm so I wont even guess ,& my heads fried with fkn DWC root issues of my own ... get some great white ,mix it with carbo for 2 days & chuck it in there !, thats my plan & i'll see how it goes . :smokebuds:

Cool cool, I'll just try and see this one through if she doesnt die off at any point, treat her as one big learning curve/experimental grow..it's more about me learning how to read the plant than getting a big yield now - got plenty of time for that once I'm dialled in etc. But as you said you never know she could surprise us yet. I'll look into the tea (probably for the next grow) cos I'm kinda short on cash but if it doesn't cost too much to get everything I'll try and do it sooner rather than later, also I put my water thermometer in the water level pipe and I'm adjusting res temps according to that rather than the actual res because the bubbles of air are cold and they're deceiving me! Actual res temps will have likely gone over 24 deg over these past three weeks but keeping it below 22 now. I'll keep updating daily (if I can) and I'll just do the best I can for her and try to salvage the operation, with a little help from AFN of course : :smokebuds: Thanks for sticking around and advising me the best you can mate, really makes a difference and hopefully the next plant will be spot on and your new role as teacher will be complete

the soaking of the cubes n pebbles is personal preference bud . anywhere between .5 & .8 is cool & the res nutes soon adjust them to the res PH :smokebuds:its when there left unwashed or PH balanced at all you may get probz

Pal your temp gauge in the level indicator will give false readings ... you NEED those res temps low bro (18-20 ideally)... Im sure all my issues started with this warm UK weather (1st time even close to 24oC )

You may find yourself chasing your tail trying to get this girl dialed in ?. Give it a go by all means bud ,but it may do your nut in more than necessary when poppin a fresh 1 may be smooth as a pint of Carling premier TaNg's Thangjust my thoughts Pal ::coffee break:

the water with the cold air being pushed through it is the res Pal .... thats the temps you need to monitor ... not water in a tube thats exposed to grow room conditions .
