Another question.. once the ph is done... then do I check the ppm?. And if that's high.. or low, how do you know what to add to not throw off the ph?.. or ppm first... then ph..?that's the part I'm not understanding..

The tap water has been tested... it has allot of minerals in it.. meaning "hard" water.. the ph is around 8 to 8.2.. should I just use that water instead of.ro water..would certainly make my life easier... Lol.. and just ph it to the correct value?.. I.also was going to be adding humic acid (called fossil fuel).. 1 teaspoon.. to the res... to.get.the roots going a bit..
Hey buddy, always set the PH after you've sorted the ppm/ec. You make the res to the strength you need then set the PH to the correct value. Also the best thing I can advise is gettig a decent PH and EC meter ASAP. They are the key to your DWC journey being a success, calibrate them weekly and you will always be in range.
There are benefits from using the RO water but I don't have any experience with it I'm afraid mate, I just use hard tap water also(0.4 background EC) and it works fine so to keep it simple you could just use the tap water first time around? Again without an EC meter you're kind of guessing the strength which could lead to problems, get that meter sorted and you'll be flying
Oh and in response to your earlier post, I'm not sure that epsom salts will raise the ppm in water like the calmag does for RO water. It will supply the plants with a source of cal/mag though as I use it in my soil grows and it works, not sure about the hydro though brother I just bought a CalMag solution from Plant Magic.

I have the ph already.. might spend the cash and get a combo with probes that stay in the water..(ph, ppm,ec,and temp) and the panel mounts on the wall... weekly calibrations? Ok.then.. I haven't calibrated my ph pen since I got it.. 4 weeks ago.. ill get the solution and do that as well..
I did start it back up.. phed the water (ro) to 5.3.. soaked the clay balls over night in 5.5 water solution.. got three ladies back.in it... it's bubbling away.. doing it thing, ill be checking on it today.. see where things are at... these plants are two weeks from seed.. not sure if I'm going to start a grow journal... of I do ill send you the link to it... thanks again for all the help meng!

You're more than welcome buddy, I may have to upgrade the the combo meter at some point when I can afford it, BlueLab make the best gear as far as I know it's just a bit more expensive. Definitely start a journal then lots of people will be able to help and give advice, best of luck

Naughty Pal I missed the update for day 51, apologies! Wasn't that much to report to be honest the updates might not be daily from now on depending and what changes I see day to day Anyway here we are on day 52, had to top up with another 4L of water today, added 7ml of flores A+B to keep the EC at 1.2 (It didn't shift from there after drinking 4L so seems to be happy) PH 5.9, I set it to 5.8 and let it drift over 24 hours to 6.0 then take it down again. Just a couple pics today

Afternoon AFN, hope you're keeping well. Needed another 4L of water and a touch of A+B again this morning. I have a few queries today and mr Cocha I may need your help when you stumble across this post EC remained at 1.2 no shift up or down which leads me to believe thats her sweet spot right now. However, when inspecting leaves I see yellowing between the veins and some tiny yellow leaves on the main stem, most of the yellowing is on the fan leaves affected by burn - could this just be development of that earlier damage? I don't want to up her feed and burn her again so thought I'd ask for advice on this one because it's puzzling me. I've tried to display what I'm talking about with the pics so if anybody wants to jump in that would be a great help

Up it to 1.4 & see bro ?. I cant be sure but its possible just topping off with aqua through the week is making her a bit hungry ?.
once there drinking a fair bit I make up 20L of nutes ,throw in 13 & keep 7 for top off(sometimes depending where the sweet spot is i may add a few L of water to that & make it a bit weaker just so not to over do it ) .Then im not diluting down all the supps through the week kinda thing... I try to keep everything that went in 1st as it was as much as poss through the week & if I run out of top off before the weeks done i may add water for a day or two ,but usually make the fresh res early .
she sounds like a greedy bitch Pal & is going to get even more greedy ,faster from now on . you need to be on it like a car bonnet as Kush would say !!!.
Its the build up of the additive measures thats important at this stage & diluting them might (?) be the cause.I think keeping those additives at the right levels as much as poss is a good thing (while controling the EC with the final base nute to max her out without burning her )but some growers will let EC drop through the week by just adding water so the plant eats nearly all the nutes & then let them almost empty the bucket too .Ive never done that & if your in the sweet spot ,adding the same through the week is the way to go ,but if your a bit to hot then its bad !.
If you think she is hungry then go with your gut & up the feed mate .,..you may find she stays stable at 1.4 now shes feeding more again ?.It is a very fine line & ive had EC rise one day ...add a L of water & be dropping the next lol. An idea may be go full boost next res but keep the EC low . keep her on full boost untill PK week is done & start to bring her down from there .
I say fine line & you must know what i mean now ...seems you have been backing off all the way from those mega high EC's at the start & now shes probably ready for it bro !!!
