Up it to 1.4 & see bro ?. I cant be sure but its possible just topping off with aqua through the week is making her a bit hungry ?.

once there drinking a fair bit I make up 20L of nutes ,throw in 13 & keep 7 for top off(sometimes depending where the sweet spot is i may add a few L of water to that & make it a bit weaker just so not to over do it ) .Then im not diluting down all the supps through the week kinda thing... I try to keep everything that went in 1st as it was as much as poss through the week & if I run out of top off before the weeks done i may add water for a day or two ,but usually make the fresh res early .

she sounds like a greedy bitch Pal & is going to get even more greedy ,faster from now on . you need to be on it like a car bonnet as Kush would say !!!.

Its the build up of the additive measures thats important at this stage & diluting them might (?) be the cause.I think keeping those additives at the right levels as much as poss is a good thing (while controling the EC with the final base nute to max her out without burning her )but some growers will let EC drop through the week by just adding water so the plant eats nearly all the nutes & then let them almost empty the bucket too .Ive never done that & if your in the sweet spot ,adding the same through the week is the way to go ,but if your a bit to hot then its bad !.

If you think she is hungry then go with your gut & up the feed mate .,..you may find she stays stable at 1.4 now shes feeding more again ?.It is a very fine line & ive had EC rise one day ...add a L of water & be dropping the next lol. An idea may be go full boost next res but keep the EC low . keep her on full boost untill PK week is done & start to bring her down from there .

I say fine line & you must know what i mean now ...seems you have been backing off all the way from those mega high EC's at the start & now shes probably ready for it bro !!!

Thanks for stepping in brother, I will set the EC at 1.4 tonight and see what has happened by the morning. Quick question, she's drinking a fair bit now like 3-4L a day, if I do a res change but make two identical resies, how long will the other one last if it's just sat there? I can see myself needing 15-20L extra a week at this stage. I could bubble the spare res with one of the smaller air pumps - it wont have as much oxygen running through it but it also wont have a plant in there, just needs to stay usable for a week if possible? Let me know cos I could giver her another res change in the morning with top up at the ready the way she is drinking

If I remember right Seymour said ...once you have added the same amount of top up ,its time to change the res .

Heavy feeding I would make up two resies ...both the same additives but less aqua in the second for a lower ec & once thats gone in do the res change (unless the week was up 1st).You wont want nutes hanging around much longer than that or top off more than the res capacity dude so two should be plenty :smokebuds:

Day 54

Afternoon all, just been in to tend to the girls. She needed 3L today which I left undiluted to take the EC back down to 1.2. I raised it to 1.4 last night and after drinking it had risen to 1.5 so thought I should back off.. looking like 1.2-1.3 is where she needs to be but I'll know for sure once she's had a drink of the 1.2 res. Will be doing a res change tomorrow, that will be 6 days of being topped up with water so almost a week anyways. I chopped a few leaves today but I was very specific about which ones - only fan leaves that were both damaged past the point of return and covering any bud sites. There were about 7 I think but I'm sure she won't mind at all. Here's a few pics as always, catch you guys tomorrow

Day 55

Right, well today has been a confusing one. Yesterday I set the EC at 1.2 because the day before I set it at 1.4 and it rose to 1.5 in 24 hours - which should mean feed was too strong. When I checked today it had jumped from 1.2 to 1.5 again so 1.2 is still too strong which is odd.. therefore with the new res I've set the EC to 1.0 to monitor what happens by the morning, the sweet spot is evading Pal again! If this is the case and she's not hungry for a higher EC it must be the LED burn/bleaching causing the yellowing..did AFN conclude whether or not the bleached tips are smokeable? I can't remember but they do look cool either way, one or two wont hurt her I guess. I'll get there eventually. the new res consists of the following:

18ml CalMag
7.5ml Rhizotonic
30ml Cannazym
30ml Canna Boost (1/2 strength, will increase to full at PK week)
23ml Flores A+B
EC 1.0
PH 5.8

It's officially a struggle to get her out of the tent now which isn't practical for res adjustments, i'll defo be appreciating that 1.6m tent in my future grows - cocha I know you warned me I've allowed myself a half hour spliff/update break then I'll be going back in to make the top up res, she's drinking like an actual beast now : if anyone has any comments or advice I'm always open to suggestions - this is still my first time at DWC and just because you have a big plant it doesn't necessarily mean there's nothing left for you to learn! Life is a lesson as they say.. Anyways I've tried to to include the best photos I can manage with my phone, i'll make sure I have an actual camera for harvest time

Some plants metabolisms just drink more,faster @ lower EC's ,while others like high EC's but consume it @ a slower rate dude ... thats when knowing each plant & getting the ratio's right while keeping the EC in the zone comes in .Thats why i thought full boost (or at least 3/4 !!)with the same or slightly higher EC would be an idea .That way your giving her more feed but keeping the ec in range & if you think shes hungry then that would deffo be the plan !.

In fact thats the whole point of the control DWC gives you by building up the feed as she grows ...once you hit the EC sweet spot you can still up the ratio levels as long as nothing is already at full strength ,maxing out the potential :dance2:

If you where at 1/2 boost last week & want to be at full on PK week in say 2 weeks ? ,I would go 3/4 for a week or until Pk or work it out even better than that .

ie --- 1/2 last wek = 2mpl
3/4 this week = 3mpl
full on PK week = 4mpl ...thatsbuilding it up gradually & better than a half to full jump .:GoooAuto:

Not sure why she seems to be wanting lower EC's Pal ... I do remember the SR I fkd up with root rot did seem to go like that & you wouldn't even know she had it looking at her up top ?... smell your top up res & then the bucket shes in & if the latter smells like really damp compost something could be wrong in the res? .root pics would be good brotha :GoooAuto:

Also remember it takes a good 24hrs + for everything to fully dilute & EC will go up a point or two in that time ... Ph swings a bit as well so if that last res was a bit rushed ?. could be why the EC went a bit funky ?.:Coolio:

ps ....bubble your top up for 24hrs & let it sit in the dark somewhere or you can keep it bubbling but I dont bother :five:

Day 56

Start of week 8 today, time is flying but still plenty to go! Despite her drinking 2L from the new res the EC stayed very stable at 1.0 (1.4 on the bluelab with background ec) so she must be happy there, I topped her up from the spare res so I'll check again tonight for any changes. She's not going to win any prizes for her health but I'm determined to try and get to that finish line Just a few tent shots today as I'm trying to move her less and less now due to her size.


p.s you can really see the difference in the LED unit spectrums, the new one even looks brighter
