New Grower 1st time grower growing outdoors what can i use to maximize my yields

I'm using Jack herer,pineapple gum,magnum,pounder,afghan kush Ryder and Assassin someone suggested I use koolbloom and a root stimulant if I use them when would be a good time also I'm germinating gonna go 12/12 for 2 weeks then transplanting how big should my pots be I was gonna use 5gal buckets any advise would be greatly appreciated
