Thanks for all of the support everyone.
So, I guess I'm going to take ya'll up on the offer for advice. I'm getting ready to start and my brother has gone AWOL. I'm trying to remember what he told me about germinating. Does this sound about right??? Seed is soaking in a shot glass of water of pH of 6-6.5, 84℉ in closet. No light. After 24hours, transfer to moist paper towel for 2-3 more days until a tail has formed...

Also, I get the concept of a journal and the reason for it, but how often should I check progress/ write an entry, and what questions or data should I answer each entry?

That is the correct way to germ. It's not mandatory you have a journal but it's kind of a fun thing to do and others can follow your grow. You can update your grow as often as you like and post some pictures along with feeding info, nutes added and how often you feed them or anything else you want to add along with questions you may have.

Shoot, ima have all kinds of questions when I get to planting it in soil. Lol

Each grow has many questions.

Hopefully we can answer them for ya, or help you find the ones you need.

Glad to see you got your grow on.

I've got another question for ya'll. My tap root has sprouted, and I need to get it into soil soon. My question is, I bought hydro max HP by Atami. The guy at the grow shop said that it is PH balanced so I don't need to add anything, but I keep seeing ppl perlite and other additives. Can someone please explain to me what it is, and if I need it, or anything else???

perlite is kind of like little white rocks that you use for a medium for your roots to take hold. Or to aerate a soil grow. Sort of the same concept as clay pebbles. Ok I just realized you meant hydromix hp. I wouldn't mess with amending it on your first grow. It is already a slightly more complicated growing medium than soil. I don't know anything about out it so I caint really help but no, you don't need to add perlite(looks like little white rocks) to the mix it should have plenty of airflow. Hope this helps.

I think we got your perlite question covered.

let's get these babies going.

Plant about 1/2 inch deep, and wait....

Good luck

I got her in the soil yesterday. Gonna go with 24-0 light for the first week, then switch to 18-6. I bought Cyco platinum series nutes that I'm gonna wait til the 2nd or third week to start. The suggested feeding schedule is for 7 weeks of veg then another 8 weeks of flowering. I know enough about autos to know that they don't have a 15 week cycle, so how do I convert that to a 10 week cycle?

I am subbed. I am wishing you the best of grows.
