Grow Mediums 24 grams: what went wrong

I am 28 days into my first grow and I have 5 plants. Two are Fast buds strains. One looks like it will be a producer one I think is a little more of a challenge. the other 3 are from a mix so I am not sure what they are. 2 of those 3 are small compared to the rest of the plants and since these are my first autos I have no way of predicting but I would be happy if they produced 14 grams each. I guess it's all in the gene's.
I just grew out 2 Northern Lights auto from same batch, but one plant was 15" tall, while her sister was over 2.5ft

I have to agree with @DunkingDave on the watering schedule. With Coco the more frequent you water the more oxygen your roots get and the quicker your plants will grow.

It's also possible to have your led to low and slow down your plants growth without causing any bleaching or even any significant calcium magnesium issues.

Sometimes Growers new to Coco will allow that Coco to dry out a bit before they water. This will cause their roots to stunt and die back and the plant will stay perpetually small. As soon as your plant is large enough to tolerate flooding your entire pot you should always flood your entire pot and get some runoff.

I listed those three things because they will give you a normal looking plant but your plant will just stay small.
I always allow coco to slightly dry between waterings, that's how I read it should be. I do understand all about the water/oxygen, but I'm not so sure I like keeping it constantly saturated

Once my seedlings are old enough to water I add pebbles on top, especially to keep my coco from getting dry on top. If I had pots with drain holes in the bottom of put pebbles there. When one coco fiber gets dry it has salt residue, that builds up more over repeated drying out. That can through of your pH and cause lock out.

Coco should never dry at all, it should get light. But, it should be evenly wet through out.

Hi bro its simply because its a low ryder cross so they will all be small plants.if you want big plants buy seeds from the better breeders dutch passion, dinafem, fast buds all have big strains to choose from just check the info.low ryders were the first autos to be bred and very small plants they are great for little pc or cabinet grows but if you want big plants buy from better breeders we are now seeing plants yielding 8oz and above consistently

totally agree.. now i do let them get light as you said but i do it maybe a week before flush and the plant goes wild!

When I say allowing coco to dry, "dry" is probably the wrong word, I don't check the coco but the weight of pots and I do allow it to get about 30-40% lighter between waterings

I use Canna coco and I follow what they say about watering, but maybe I'm getting something wrong. This is taken from the Canna website

"Roots have to grow. When nutrients and water are abundant, the root system does not develop in balance with the shoots and a carbohydrate limited condition presents itself, so weakening the plant. Allow the plants time to dry and thus use up the minerals present. Conversely, if you keep them too dry, a condition known as chronic underwater or underfeed can manifest itself"
AND
"When figuring out the water cycle for a crop of more than one plant, base your times on an average of all the plants. For instance, we want to water most media (except aeroponics) when about 50% of the total volume of the water is used or gone."
