I have a 250 watt (hps/mh) conversion ballast. What bulb or bulbs should i use for which stages of growth?

I will be growing in a 2' by 2' space with 2 plants.

I have heard of duel spectrum but not entirely sure of what that will provide.

Any help/comments/advice are greatly appreciated!!

Stay stoned my friends:toke:.

Mh for growth.....Hps for flower, as for the duel spectrum I have my first ever on the way....I'v been using hps all the way through for the last year and had good results, generally shorter plants but real tight and dnse buds from the tight node spacing.....I actually had to add a couple cfl's to help get some stretch out of them.

I use the cheap Ultra Sun bulbs.......works great for me and the have more of a blue spectrum........you'll for sure get a lil stretch trust me......plus a Damn good bulb for the price. They are distributed by Sun System. I hope this helps!

how is the heat with the 250w hps?and how close can the bulb be to the top of the canopy?im pretty keen on investing in one+cool tube.
peace

I have a 250wMH for veg and a 250w Hps dual spectrum for flower. The dual spectrum bulb came with my tent package, its perfectly fine for the whole grow as it contains a small amount of blue as well as red. I like to start with the MH then switch to the dual spec for flowering, word of warning though if you're switching to the dual spec be confident your vertical growth is finished as i found the small percentage of blue added a bit of stretch which you probably wouldn't get with a pure red son-t bulb, on my 1st grow my blue mystic grew to 33" and had to be tied away from the light (i grow in a DR60II so not much headroom) However my current grow i had plants with staggered planting times, i already had plants in flower when i popped another blue mystic in to replace a stunted S.A.D. so this time the blue mystic is growing purely with the dual spec. It's doing great this time round and is a much more manageble height, although i limited the grow nutes and switched to flowering nutes early to stop the vertical growth. @ greenenthusiast - Heat wise the 250w bulbs still put out quite a bit of heat, i'm growing in a DR60II tent which measures 60cmsX60cmsX160cms i have a 4" vents tt extraction fan with a carbon filter and passive intake, my tent is also in a closet (not ideal but the stealthiest option for me) The heat stays relatively stable between 75-80 although i do have to a window open most days to prevent it getting too high, occassionaly it hits 84-86 which is'nt great i know but most of the time it's stable (i also have a 6" fan in the tent for circulation) Distance from plants is relative to plants age and height i typically use the back of my hand method, too hot move the light up! not sure how you'd get on with a cool tube attatched as the usually have glass screens, wether or not this would diminsh the lumens i don't know, not that experienced sorry! I do know i can grow 4 plants in my small tent with the 250w bulbs and the results have been pleasing, and getting better on my 2nd grow:D
