Grow Room 2x2 Grow Cab...Input needed please

Hey y’all! I have a 2x2 plywood from cab that I built a few years ago. I only grew one plant in it and did ScoG method with chicken wire. It worked pretty good but I have this question/problem.

The inside of the cab only has 34” of vertical space. So, I still have to hang my light snug up against the top(planning on 300W LED), and plan to use no more than a 3 gallon pot. I’m not sure if this will leave me a lot of headspace to move the light further away if needed. I will be growing Autoflowering strains only for a while.

Should I spend the money on a couple of sheets of plywood and make the cabinet more like 48” tall or even 72” tall? OR would that be wasting money and just roll with what I have for now and see how it does?

The strain I grew several years ago was Pure Power Plant and it was just one plant in there and I didn’t do too well with it because I think the nutrients were off and I am a NEWB! LOL! However, the bud that I did get was great to me and I was proud.

Ok, so please help and give me your opinions please.

I vote for more headroom. Short tents are fine when growing short specific strains and or heavily training, but having extra space up top is hard to beat for me. When filters and lights and clip on fans are hung, a taller tent would be very fruitful. My inline fan/filter have been outside my tent for a long time.

That’s where I’m leaning too. I think I’m going to throw together another one and make it 5’. That should give me room to hang my light and have plenty of space between the screen and light and the container and screen.

my tent is 2x2, and 56 inches tall... i use a 1.5 gal bucket, coco coir, 65 watts cob light (autocob) as sung up to the ceiling as possible...
I wish i had more vertical space... so i'd say go 72 inches if possible.

not much experience with autos to really say anything substantial, but so far the auto i've had here could use more head space with my light, maybe with other light it would be fine... and if i undrestand correctly she's on the small end of autos...

This will be my first Autoflowering try so I might try it in the cab I have and if it doesn’t work, then maybe I’ll spend the coin on building another.
