cool idea, where in the world did you come up with this one? Another idea along the same line is to add some kelp to the soaking water.

I read that somewhere, I just can't remember where.

I wonder how or if it worked with your seeds . I've had some old beans from early 2000, few still germinated in 2020 , most didn't. I guess none would have germinated without being in the fridge and the careful work on the shell. I like the good old "roll a sandpaper to form a tube and shake the bean inside" trick. That corn trick sounds cool. Never heard of it. Aloe vera gel (what's inside that leaf) should do the same and also works on rooting cuttings.
