We had a little sphincter clencher moment last night. Way too strong with the nutes. I dropped the canna down to .5ml/l and dropped the gh sub culture m. PH is at 5.7. I need to get a ppm and ec meter. I cant give that info as I don't have it. I know more help could be given f I had that info. Hmm.

Anyways I have a back up for one if it dies. pretty boring.

AS FOR TOPPING. -

The plant was topped at day 7-8. It shows signs of recovery already. Ill take a pic tonight after some light and time. Its cute. Its probably going to grow absolutely retarded looking but that's not the goal. Im really just looking at yield right now and answering this AUTO topping mystery.

Anyone want me to top the back right one? Or ill wait till 5 nodes. Id prefer to wait for 5 nodes. But if someone is interested I can chop when and how you want. Im just pinching heads now. I can do a full cut above the 3rd node on the back right plant soon. Or I could mainline it. Or a half ass PP33 haggered mainline job like this.

Alright Ladies and Gentlemen. So far I have topped an auto seedling at around 5-7 days old. She didn't like it. Not at all. She started leaning over, very slightly, but to my surprise this morning I woke up to some new growth. Now small, the recovery time is on par with my LSD I just topped. Looking forward to leaving her be and getting going again. Ill wait till veg to top again.

Although continuous growth on top looks healthy, the formed fan leaves will tend to show signs of what I believe is actually possibly a calcium difficiency. I subbed some magical in their so well see tonight. No work today so ill head down to the hydro store to pick up a PPM/EC meter and try to get these things looking brand new.

The growth is slow from the topped area, however considering its age im very happy and believe we have a strong "mainlined" system. Im going to start supercropping to build her up. I do very well know that these plants are too young for this. Everything in this thread is a test. The back left one is receiving what I call the ass kicking of a lifetime. Therotically it should be the beefiest.

You need to CHOP not pinch off the top growth on the afs so far is what ive found. I find the nodes below extremely undeveloped and overly developed one node down from that. Therefore, I CUT. and use the over developed new shoots. Cool.

Explosive growth from the two colas. Topped 3 days ago and ive got a good inch of growth. Count recovery time, that's like half an inch since I left this morning. Its absolutely growing lengthwise in stem, AND leaves. You may notice how developed those leaves are on the new colas, I find this to be very interesting. The new growth is very healthy, the rest of the plant took a beating with some warm water, bad ph, and overall poor nutrition. Given that, id will be interesting to see what happens when I top its healthy sisters.

*Must be topped the second node from the top with a clean pair of whatever the F you want. But growth is not mature enough to pinch the top. IMHO

So it's been some time, (in my books) that I have updated this log.

To be honest I think im shy to show my girls. I think I may have gone about this the wrong way but that's part of learning.

This is my first grow and I have already learned tons! Key point being these plants get big fast, and need their own space. And to make provisions at the start for those growing girls. Ive had to separate every DWC bucket and im obviously now running one plant a bucket. Their too small. If I could do this again id have 2 plants in 5 gallin black buckets. White wasn't a wise choice but I have yet to fight any type of fungi etc.

So besides rambling on about my revelations in growing, here are some updates of the topping.

The first one I topped I put in 12/12 to stretch. (Noob idea turns out it works - to an extent). But it kept stretching, and now looks really lanky. In fact they all look lanky and like the light is 5 meters away but in fact its about a foot up. Youll notice the ones I topped are open and airy, and the single plant I didn't top stayed flat and short.

Ive slammed the light and im at 24/7 now. Like I said I think I destroyed them. Im going to top them down a bit, with the light dropped, and hopefully the new colas will grow with less length in between nodes. If this thing goes into flower like this, the stems I don't think are strong enough to support buds let alone themselves.

My photo plant just to prove im not retarded lol. Just need to get these autos back under control.

I have just started a similar expriment here but I will wait until the girls are about 20 days old before I start cutting into them ..

Well I hope you can learn something haha. Well people say you cant top autos, and they are reacting strangely, but now how I expected. They are just LANKY weak plants. I mean its kinda cool, its like a skeleton (Hmmm, light penetration for flowering? Might be good) but wtf. And its so strain dependent. The early miss takes about a day to recover, and the NL is just accepting the fact I cut her head off, 4 days later. Nice avatar btw :Sharing One:
