Lighting 400wHPS or 190wLED

hey guys, about to buy my lights for my first grow, ill be growing stuff like mobydick auto and amnesia haze auto, but I cant choose between a 400w HPS or a Mars hydro 400 (190w), what should be better for me? I know the LEDs expend less energy but i dont really care about that, i want better result for my plants. Thanks

Ive heard alot about increased resin production due to decreased temp with led's. Plus they wont melt your hand if you touch them or smash into a million pieces if broken. Led's for sure, they are an investment not an expense unlike their hps counter part. You can replace diodes as you need ,upgrade fans whatever. Some will argue the case due to years of experience with traditional tech and good results but id argue the case if i had thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars spent on a product that works well, the mining and energy industry have been doing it for over a decade. You do the math bro plenty of proof out there

I own a Mars 400w and it's a nice light. Though it could be better, it's great for the price . It gets the job done and I mean what else can I ask for. Works great in my 2x2. I think the HPS would yield a lot more, but the Mars give me tremendous quality .

To be honest it all depends on what your looking to achieve in my experience i have alot of friends that use leds in the summer because of high temps and it effects yeild so i have been told but there bud always seems alot frostier to me.. i use hps and they are in my opinion perfect i use 2 600w hps and get nice big fat nugs but they run hot and can be a bit of a handful... but like someones said above theres plenty of options and they are all great in there own ways, check out some growlogs so you can see some of the lights in action might give you abit more to go on?

They both run close to 20% efficient. With the Mars 400 the par watts are under 100 watts. Certain cobs run 50%+ efficient and the cmh 315 is the best bet price wise running at 43% those numbers you can actually achieve more with less. It's not like these false led claims that nearly every company makes. Good luck to you
