What’s up AFN peoples, here for my third grow and first run with 420 FastBuds…plus a Twenty20 Mendocino Trizzlers auto to attempt my first Solo cup grow
started these 04.01.22 so I got a little bit to catch up on!
Genetics: 420 FastBuds Original Blueberry and Twenty20 Mendocino Trizzlers (F2 from the GAAR).
Room: 2’x2’x4’ CoolGrows tent (for $54 has done it’s job lasting 3 runs, in for an upgrade soon!)
Container: 5 gal fabric pot (Blueberry) and Solo cup (Trizzlers)
Medium: Went cheap since this is my last run before shutting down for summer (heat and cost per therm just doesn’t make sense indoors, and can’t grow anything outside)…so long story short, medium is 45%
Happy Frog I had left and 45% Promix Compressed potting soil and MiracleGro (yuck!) Perlite because I need to “get more done” with the little time and craziness I have going on.
Lights: Bloomspect SL600, two Sunblaster T5HO with Agromax 10,000K “Finisher”, 6500K veg, 3000K “Bloom”, and PureUV that get interchanged as needed. RapidLED far red and deep red initiator pucks.
Nutes: Gen Hydro MaxiGro and MaxiBloom, CALiMAGic and BioRoot. Bloom City Silica Boost. AN Nirvana, Bud Candy, and Big Bud supplements mostly during flower…I use some Nirvana during veg state and half-strength Bud Candy the first two weeks (once a week) to give some sugars for the microbes while the roots are developing. Also Dynomyco during transplant.
Here’s stock pics of the cheap media I bought, first time not prepping my own coco mix and going off the shelf mostly so we’ll see how this goes! With that in mind I can’t hate on 420FB if this grow goes to shite
Did my normal routine, dropped the seeds into shot glasses containing pH’d distilled water and a drop of BioRoot and soaked for about 20 hours.
After the soak they go into moist paper towels (Viva brand FTW!) inside Ziplock bags (not sealed) on a heat mat at 78-80 *F. The Blueberry started to crack during the soak, Trizzlers was almost ready to burst and definitely swelling:
Just shy of 24 hrs in paper towels and they were ready for Rapid Rooters.
I soak the cubes in half-strength BioRoot solution, cover with a dome spritzed with water. The little domed tray goes back on the heat mat in darkness up to 24 hrs until I start the light cycle. I always prepare an extra cube (soaked) for my heat mat temp probe. The extra cube also provides mater
I’ll end this started post here so it doesn’t get too bulky, the first few weeks of veg to now will come shortly! Thanks for stopping by AFN growmies, hope I can get some dank fruity smells off these girls in a couple months!
