Anyone tried above formula? I want try this in autopots.
- 1.5 pot perlite
- 0.5 pot coco

I don't have more coco right now, only Lightmix soil to bump that "non-perlite" substrate.
I can mix let's say this:
- 1 pot perlite
- 0.5 pot coco
- 0.5 pot soil

But I read that @Ryker604 or @RamboGarden do this and it's not good.
So I wonder if I can go with 70% perlite 30% coco.

Will just say that a soil and coco mix is not bad, but not as effective as straight coco if looking for explosive growth.

I'm using 60/30/10 - coco, perlite, worm castings. Rambo once used a coco and soil mix, but I don't know many people that use above 50% of perlite.

Sounds like it should work, but really don't know what to expect :2cents:.

Thanks for response!

I have planted seeds into 250ml cups, into lightmix. Just to save some perlite/coco mix because I haven't received airdomes yet and I cannot plant directly in autopots. So they will be in 250ml soil for 7-10 days.
Then I will transplant them into 70/30 perlite/coco.

Right now my Auto orange buds (look into signature) is in 70/30 coco/perlite.
So we will see what is better... 70% coco or 70% perlite...

I've tried it. If you don't have cheap fertilizer this is not economical.

The way you use a substrate like this is like any other hydro. You water it excessively. 10% of the pot volume per day. Now if you use something like Jack's 321 you only pay like 50c per 100L of ferilizer solution but if you go for bottled stuff you won't be able to cost effectively grow like that.
