What up Y'all? The ZombiiCat here,

here's my experience of trying soil vs. a rocks wool cube

Ight so I had ordered myself a bunch of auto single seed packets a month ago,
and I decided to experiment between using rocks wool cubes.
well long story short cubes suck! use soil only! I lost enough seeds from the cubes it was a lesion learned 'cause my poor seeds suffered from fungus sitting in the cubes, but my Cherry Bomb Auto flourished in the 707 organic soil I picked up and mixed with worm castings and bat guano so needless to say just stick your autos directly into the soil and the love it and water with some fish tank water for explosive organic growth.

I'm gonna grow a couple extra photosensitive plants to make up for lost yield weight from the failed autos I attempted to grow in the cubes. :stoneslap::jaw: :stoneslap: and invest in more Bomb Seeds fo show in the near future :fire:

Unless you're growing hydro there is really no reason to use rock wool. Chances are you kept it too wet. Rock wool holds a lot of water and if kept constantly soaked, can cause rot.

A word of caution about that 707 soil. It's really formulated for growing photos outdoors. We've had a couple of members try it for indoor autos and have found it to be a bit too hot for auto seedlings as is without the additional amendments, which will make it even hotter.

thanks for the heads up about the soil, I kinda figured it was a bit hot 'cause my Cherry bomb is a bit yellow in her leafs.
She gets her first nutrient feeding next time she needs a drink and I cut the mix way down and deluded it even more 1 quart feed x 3 quarts water till she gets used to heavier feedings Woops I just need to remember not to open my windows at night 'cause flying garden pests like to find there way in to try and snack on her

That soil has enough nutrients in it that you shouldn't need to feed your plant for at least the first 4 weeks. It consists of coarse peat, coco fiber, compost, perlite, pumice, worm castings, bat guano, fish bone meal, soybean meal, feather meal, and kelp meal. That's a lot of nutrients, plus you added more castings and guano. I would suggest only giving plain, pHed water. Keep in mind that autos normally only require about half the nutrients that photo plants need.
