I've been wondering a lot lately about how exactly commercial breeders are able to offer stable auto genetics since there's not really a way to keep mother/father plants...

I mean even if you use a photoperiod clone as a parent there's still one parent that will be different every time you run a new batch.

Am I missing something? Is there a technique I'm ignorant to, or are we just having faith in the selection skill of the breeder? should we treat autos sort of like wine? You know some vineyards always produce good wine but certain years stand out more than others.

I know it may sound crazy but I'm almost scared to pop any of my Mephisto gear (first time buying autos ) in fear that I may find something I love that I can't preserve or find again especially since a lot of lines are sold out after the sale

dont be scared anymore, send them troublesome ol seeds to me to look after for you.
il put them in this box for you, keep them safe.

Mephistos is wonderful breeders and I stuck to ordering what they always have for that same reason I don't want to find a holy grail to never have it again.
From all my inquiries you can't go wrong with any of their strains I just started more myself.
They all are georgus plants you are going to love them.

The photo parents are usually kept as mother/father plants, and the clones taken from them are the parent genes used, generally, to stabilize, the original photo parent should be kept alive to back cross, then the prime candidates in that next generation or the following one are the fem seed producers using sts it's a lot of time, love, and work Mitch and the crew put in, and as with any strain, photo or auto, you'll always have a few or more phenotypes, generally before mephisto releases anything, whatever pheno you happen to get will be of keeper quality, even though unfortunately you can't keep an auto mother lol so as far as the auto parent, I'm guessing it has to be a very stable strain with the ideal phenotype each time they are bred

All i know is i really enjoy not havinf to keep a tent for mothers anymore. Its quick and done and on to the next one. I grew photos for years, you never really get time off as mother has to be around. Now essentially mother stays in the fridge crisper.
