The tomatoes are looking very good, some of the lower leaves are starting to take on that healthy, waxy shine. They're in 50% strength soil without any additional input whatsoever. Part of the test. Only one variety that might be slightly deficient, I gotta study up on tomato leaf deficiency pics and see....

How do you prepare your aloe? Ive only used it on burns but think its an awsome plant.

Thanks to Eyes on Fire for passing that on.

I have a small little aloe plant so I take like 3 inches and just scrape the goo into the watering jug.

I think I've bubbled it an hour a couple times, and a couple times not. I'm not sure how volatile the fresh material is but I kind of feel that fresh and use it now is better. I'll add it to the jug right before watering in. Seems to work well as a root tonic. :joy:

Btw, for severe burns, even better is to apply fresh potato peels IMMEDIATELY. Just pare off the peel and put the wet side down on the burn. In 5 or 10 seconds, you'll see the inner peel turn from white to dark. Change the peel and repeat, repeat, repeat. You peel the spuds as you go, the peels oxidize quickly. Later, put the aloe on. :wiz:

Thanks for the aloe and potato help. I have never heard of the potato peel for a burn.

I gotta get another aloe plant going now.

For sure, man, the potato peels really work, just keep getting fresh peels on the burn as quick as possible, helps if there's another person to do the peeling. Absolutely a life saver when someone has been badly burned.
