A Garden Of Goodies

Here's the day 37 update :

Stone Dragons are greening up, doing better. The tops all look unique.

Here's the Ripley's OG :

New growth still looking unhappy-ish. I drenched in some Epsom, Cal, carbs, and humics. Hope that helps.

Here's the Blackberry :

She's got much sturdier branches and in good health. They'll need a few days to adjust outside, cool tonight then low and mid 90s next week. About 30 degrees difference between day and night temps expected so they'll probably stretch some more.

Here's the roots growing into the reservoir on the Blackberry :

My face was in the Ripley's root shot. It's got some showing too, but not nearly as much.

We'll see how it goes. Thanks for checking them out.
:bong:

I used some millet soaked overnight to water the Dragons, added those nutes I mentioned with some humics, carbs, and calcium. They were already looking better today before I fed, as the roots get deeper into the soil, but the extra nutes should be a boon.

Bump in the road at this time with Fungus Gnats. I guess they got into my soil outside and now they're in the tent.

Got some Mosquito Bits, which is the granular version of Mosquito Dunks, and sprinkled on the top of the pots. They provide Thuringensis bacteria to kill the larvae in the soil. A little dish of apple cider vinegar and dish soap killed a dozen adult gnats overnight.

Problem being the 5 gal pots the dragons are in have very large holes on the bottom/side giving easy access. Ditto for the newly transplanted octopot -- I can see them flying sorties in and out of the res. It's going to take a drench of something, and it looks like I'm going to choose SM-90, hopefully I can locate some here close to home. My understanding is that it will not kill the benes, but is very alkaline. I don't have a ph meter this round so I'm going to have to wing it.

Have to find some yellow sticky traps as well. :yellowcard:

Damn, finally found a use for that emo. Lol.

Also getting some cedar essential oil to scent the cab as I understand they don't like the smell.

Maybe if I also play country music backwards? LOL.

This sucks, hopefully a stepping stone rather than a stumbling block.

My first battle with these lil chits. I'm open for suggestions if you have anything good to add.

I've also read here that ladies nylon stocking can be deployed like a netting to cover the exposed drain and res holes where they're getting access. Looks like I'm going shopping today.

That's a drag pal, I hope you can knock them back quickly. That's one pest I haven't had to deal with yet so don't know anything. I added neem seed meal to my soil on the advice of others here which might deter these buggers. But I don't know if they are native here, maybe they'd be more likely to come in with gardening supplies. Anyway I'll send some
:vibes:and :karmacloud:

I was just getting them going healthy before the gnats started rolling.

The Muay Thai looks really unhappy, I'm most concerned with her I guess. She was a little over watered to begin with, then mosquito bits last night, and SM-90 drench tonight for all of them.

Sticky trap caught about 150 gnats in 10 hours today. Kind of blew my mind how many there were. I put in a second sticky trap and also put a layer of puffed glass bits on top of the containers, it's sort of like a small grain gritty perlite type stuff, it will help barrier the soil on top.

A new learning experience, not really bummed or anything, I think life is moving on but was a pain to spend time on this kind of thing today, plus some bucks on supplies. We'll see how things go.

Awesome set up. Very impressed by the work put in this.
