Here's a basic map of the origin of stone dragon

Eyes, you were right about Mossy's lines being in there, that's the Black Dragon -- I believe procedent from the JEMs. The map of Black Dragon is probably quite a story in itself.

I remember seeing some of Mossy's JEMs in another forum long ago before AFN came to be i guess, autos were still a very new thing (and mostly scoffed at) , and thinking that autos were the coolest idea ever. Lol, that's why I'm here of course.

I really appreciate the fact that Stone and NW at the Portal make their strains available as both fems and regs in most cases, so the intent to share the genetics is present, rather than to hoard the strains and the ability to produce your own seeds or crosses. Another +rep to them for that...I'll still buy seeds from them anyway, cant wait to try out more of their gear.

I sure wish I knew what I was looking at! There will be tons of questions from me down the road. Since i got some of the freebie regulars i don't want to waste them! I can value the hard work it took to make them.

Thanks mediscrogs! I registered at the portal too. Id like to possibly try a pollen run next spring /summer. Gotta start researching because i understand getting and how to pollinate but not what i will get from it. Or what to do after I ever get seeds. Id love to cross Neville with a male from the portal.

Will do that another day. Gotta smoke some more Neville and grin a while!

Dudeski, I think the pleasure of making a cross will be to see how the plants combine, and identifying which parent contributed what to the cross. Some crosses will work well, others may not. It is good to start large numbers of plants so you can pick and discard as needed so you end up with the strongest, fastest, biggest, smelliest examples to breed the next generation. To truly get a new strain, you need to inbreed and select for several generations from the initial cross you made, say 4 or 5 generations, selecting always the mothers and fathers that best display the traits you want in your strain.

It is good to have a goal at the start of the process so you know what you're trying to get to. Take Neville's...what would improve it for your needs? Same buzz but with thicker buds? Add a different aromatic to it? Add more indica body, or take it back toward full sativa? Etc.

Once you've identified a goal to improve the plant, the way to do so will become clearer. Well, in theory. LOL. I'd like a Muay Thai with just a little more body in it and a stronger aroma I guess. That would make it more ideal in my mind. I'm still at the drawing board though. Lol. The goal for the g14 cross is unknown at this point--it's the one vigorous plant i have that is at the proper phase for pollination. The nite queen has not been very vigorous, and may not be a good specimen for a cross.

For the Stone 14 cross, ill need to first smoke this harvest and see if I enjoy it like I enjoyed the mr. Nice version of it. If it's good, I'll try some Stone 14 seeds in the future and let a few strong females flower out and see what it's like. Perhaps they'll be undesirable...only one way to know, though. Lol. It gives that scent of adventure or treasure hunting that helps keep me interested in growing--now I can have exploratory projects to research along with the ho-hum of need medicine, must grow. Lol.

The Thai is just covered in sticky goodness. I'm thinking 2 more weeks, basically, I may take half and half harvest points this time around. I went ahead and removed a lot of those yellow fans, gave her an easy drench of the Nectar bone meal and sugars, probably call it good on feeds for her now.
